Mariah Carey gives Nas a humidor (that’s Joel Kinnaman and Olivia Munn behind) at his 40th birthday celebration at Avenue NYC.
“If I Ruled the World” rapper Nas entered his 40s with a lavish Hennessy-hosted bash at Chelsea’s Avenue lounge.
The Queens-bred music man was feted by family and celeb friends including his jazzman dad Olu Dara, Jermaine Dupri, U.K. singer Estelle, Olivia Munn, Anthony Mackie, Tyson Beckford and Melanie Fiona.
Nas looked like a man half his age, according to News reporter Jennifer H. Cunningham, who saw the party boy dressed in a dusky pink blazer with a large diamond pinky ring. He sat next to Mariah Carey, who wore a rhinestone-studded sling on the right arm she injured while shooting a music video at the very same venue in July.
Just before Nas was presented with his gifts, Carey whispered something in his ear.
Hennessy senior VP Rodney Williams then gifted Nas with a custom-engraved Hublot watch, with a “cognac-colored” crocodile wristband, and an engraved bottle of Hennessy Paradis Imperial. Carey gave him a Louis Vuitton cigar humidor.
The party soon moved to the hotspot’s main-level club space, where Nas and his entourage, including his brother’s band Bravehearts, settled into a banquette next to the DJ booth. DJ M.O.S. and DJ D-Nice spun Nas tunes all night.
After bopping to the music and socializing a while longer, Nas took to the mic to express his gratitude.
“Shout out to everyone here,” he said. “I thank you from the f—in’ bottom of my brave heart. I thank you sincerely. God bless you all. Continue to live long! Any Virgos in the house?”
As the night got later, Pusha-T (in town for Fashion Week), Q-Tip, Cassidy and Tristan “Mack” Wilds also were spotted in the star-studded crowd.
Nas seemed especially glad that his relatives joined him for part of the evening’s fun.
“My daughter’s in the house! Ya heard?” he asked. “My niece is in the house! Nah, nah, she went home. She’s got school tomorrow.”
