Like something straight out of a creepy urban legend, three Hong Kong gangsters—Chan Man-lok, Leung Shing-cho, and Leung Wai-lun—stuffed the skull of their victim inside a large Hello Kitty doll. The victim was 23-year-old Fan Man-yee, who had been kidnapped in March 1999 over a financial dispute. For over a month, the gang members tortured Fan regularly, beating her with steel bars and pouring hot plastic on her limbs. After she succumbed to her injuries, the gangsters disposed of her body by dismembering it and boiling the pieces. In one instance, they boiled her head while cooking noodles on the adjoining burner, and even used the same chopsticks to stir both. The gruesome murder only came to light after one of the gangsters’ girlfriends—who had also participated in the torture—revealed everything to authorities after she experienced nightmares over the incident. Subsequently, police arrested the three and a court sentenced them all to life imprisonment with no parole eligibility for two decades.

Felicia Felix-Mentor reportedly died in 1907, after a sudden illness of the type that Haitian belief finds to be characteristic of a person marked to be made into a zombie. In 1936, a woman (either nude or in ragged clothing, depending on the source) was found wandering the streets, and made her way to a farm which she claimed belonged to her father. The owners identified the woman as Felicia Felix-Mentor, long thought dead, and Felix-Mentor’s husband also confirmed this. Due to her poor health, she was sent to a government hospital. A doctor who interviewed her described her behavior:
Her occasional outbursts of laughter were devoid of emotion, and very frequently she spoke of herself in either the first or the third person without any sense of discrimination. She had lost all sense of time and was quite indifferent to the world of things around her.

One of the most violent and horrific responses to a prison riot occurred in 1992 at Carandiru Penitentiary in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the time, Carandiru was the largest prison in Latin America, and it was horribly overcrowded. Even though the facility was built to house 3,500 inmates, its population had ballooned to 7,300. Because violence was ready to explode at any moment, the facility was nicknamed “the Powder Keg.”

On the afternoon of October 2, a dispute between rival drug-trafficking gangs at Carandiru escalated into a full-scale riot. The inmates took control of the facility, and authorities made no attempt to negotiate with them. Instead, the military police immediately swept in. Three hours after the riot started, over 300 military policemen opened fire.
They killed 111 prisoners and wounded 35 more. Even though 22 officers were wounded during the riot, none of them were killed, which strongly suggests they used unjustifiable violence. In fact, eyewitnesses claimed that many of the prisoners who were shot had been hiding in their cells or trying to surrender. Since these victims presented no threat to the police, the Carandiru Massacre was seen as a major human rights violation.

The commanding officer, Colonel Ubiratan Guimaraes, was convicted of using excessive force, but the conviction was soon overturned. However, in recent years, indictments have been handed down to many of the policemen involved in the Carandiru Massacre.
As of 2014, a total of 73 officers have been convicted of murder for their roles. Most of them have received lengthy symbolic sentences, some as long as 624 years, even though the longest prison sentence anyone in Brazil can legally serve is 30 years.

The Spanish Donkey was a device which consisted of a main board cut with a wedge at the top fastened to two cross-beams. The naked victim was placed astride the main board as if riding a donkey, and various numbers of weights were attached to his or her feet. The agony could be ‘fine-tuned’ by using lighter or heavier weights. Sources relate that on occasion, the wedge would slice entirely through the victim as a result of the immense weight attached to his or her feet.

In February, 1948, distress calls were picked up by numerous ships near Indonesia, from the Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan. The chilling message was, “All officers including captain are dead lying in chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead.” This message was followed by indecipherable Morse code then one final grisly message… “I die.” When the first rescue vessel arrived on the scene a few hours later, they tried to hail the Ourang Medan but there was no response. A boarding party was sent to the ship and what they found was a frightening sight that has made the Ourang Medan one of the strangest and scariest ghost ship stories of all time. All the crew and officers of the Ourang Medan were dead, their eyes open, faces looking towards the sun, arms outstretched and a look of terror on their faces. Even the ship’s dog was dead, found snarling at some unseen enemy. When nearing the bodies in the boiler room, the rescue crew felt a chill, though the temperature was near 110°F. The decision was made to tow the ship back to port, but before they could get underway, smoke began rolling up from the hull. The rescue crew left the ship and barely had time to cut the tow lines before the Ourang Medan exploded and sank.To this day, the exact fate of the Ourang Medan and her crew remains a mystery.

In January 1959, a group of Russian hikers from the Ural Polytechnic Institute embarked on a trip to Otorten Mountain in the northern Urals. As wintry conditions worsened, one hiker was forced to turn back due to illness, unaware that he would be the last person to see his companions alive. After two weeks without word from the hikers, a search team set off to investigate their disappearance. At the camp, the tent was discovered to be cut from the inside with the hikers belongings left undisturbed. Their bodies were found nearly a mile away. They seemed to have fled the tent insufficiently clothed, most of them without their shoes. Several had violent injuries such as fractured skulls and ribs. Investigators later found puzzling evidence, including possible signs of radiation and a final cryptic photograph taken by the hikers. With no witnesses and an inconclusive investigation, the question of how this team of experienced hikers met their tragic death would continue to confound authorities for over a half-century, and give rise to conjecture and theories that continue to stoke global interest in this mystery.

The pic with the little girl in the water makes me more angry than any of them. Why the fukk are they snapping pictures instead of trying to free her.

They were trying to free her. I remember that story. That whole situation was fukked up. A mudslide rolled through and the country was too damn poor to even attempt to save anyone. The reason why they had a hard time rescuing her is because:
a) her legs were bent at a 90 degree angle, because
b) they were crushed under a door; but most tragically,
c) her auntie's body was directly beneath her legs as she kneeled.

The only people who survived in her family were her mama and her brother, who were in another town trying to sell shyt to bring money into the family as they normally did.

Oh, and the worst part of the story is that.................. when Westerners figured out that there was no way in hell they could save that little girl with the equipment on hand, they decided among themselves to let her die. But they stayed with her the whole time to give her some form of comfort even though they knew there was no way they could rescue her before hypothermia set in.

She died hallucinating about not passing a test in school.

As for one of the other stories:

In March of 1998, Amy Bradley, a 23-year old girl from Virginia, went on vacation with her parents and brother on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Rhapsody of the Seas. While they were in the vicinity of Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles, Amy mysteriously vanished from the ship. Amy’s family last saw her on their suite’s balcony in the wee hours of the morning of March 24, and eyewitnesses reported seeing her in an elevator with a member of the ship’s band sometime afterward. The ship docked in Curacao shortly after Amy’s parents reported her missing, but it was not locked down while the crew searched for her. Seven years later, Amy’s parents were E-mailed a photograph from an adult escort website featuring a woman who resembled her.It is speculated that Amy may have been smuggled off the ship in Curacao and sold into sexual slavery. There have been numerous eyewitness sightings of her over the years. One of them came from an American sailor who visited a brothel in Curacao and claimed that a woman who said her name was “Amy Bradley” asked him for help before she was escorted away. While Amy’s family have launched an extensive investigation to find her, her ultimate fate is still unknown.

That short retelling doesn't do justice to just how much of an a$$hole that sailor was.

The sailor wasn't supposed to be in that brothel.

He waited AN ENTIRE fukkING YEAR before telling anybody that Amy had slipped him a note written on paper stating that she was an American and she needed help. He put fear and his career ahead of rescuing this woman. If he had done something....

but by the time he came clean, and they went back to the brothel it had been burned to the ground.

That sailor is worse than the cop who saw the young girl in this photo

pantomiming for help in the window of an RV trailer. The cop didn't follow his instincts, which was bad, but it happens to everyone. He's been spending the rest of his life going up and down that highway looking for that RV and trying to make up for not doing anything when he had a chance.

The sailor, though, .... that mother fukker.....

Anybody could be that cop. Nobody should be that sailor.

As for Amy, she's the reason why you shouldn't go to prostitutes. I'm all for legalization, just so shyt is regulated and there are no more sex slaves.... though that doesn't stop rampant sex slavery in Israel. :( I don't know what the answer is.

I do know Amy needs to come home. Somebody knows something. People with money, people with contacts. They need to bring her home, even if she's drugged out and insane.

For those who have never heard the story of the lynchings of Hayes and Mary Turner

mary-turner1.jpg

n May of 1918, Hampton Smith, a 31 year old White plantation owner in Brooks County, Georgia was shot and killed by one of his Black workers named Sydney Johnson. Hampton Smith was known for abusing and beating his workers to the point few people in the area would work for him. To solve this labor shortage, Smith turned to the debt peonage system of the day and found a ready labor pool. He used that system by bailing people out of jail, people typically arrested for petty offenses, and having them work off their debt (the bail money) to him on his plantation. Nineteen year old Sydney Johnson, arrested for "rolling dice" and fined thirty dollars, was one such unfortunate person.

After a few days of work on Smith's plantation, and shortly after being refused his earned wages and beaten by Smith for not working while he was sick, Sidney Johnson shot and killed Hampton Smith. What ensued after the shooting was a mob driven manhunt for Johnson and others thought to be involved in his decision to kill Hampton Smith. That manhunt lasted for more than a week and resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people with some historical accounts suggesting a higher number of persons killed. One of the people killed was a woman named Mary Turner.

Twenty year-old Mary Turner (m.n. Hattie Graham), 8 months pregnant at the time and whose husband had been killed in this "lynching rampage" on Sunday, May 19th, publicly objected to her husband's murder. She also had the audacity to threaten to swear out warrants for those responsible. Those "unwise remarks," as the area papers put it, enraged locals. Consequently, Mary Turner fled for her life only to be caught and taken to a place called Folsom's Bridge on the Brooks and Lowndes Counties' shared border. To punish her, at Folsom's Bridge the mob tied Mary Turner by her ankles, hung her upside down from a tree, poured gasoline on her and burned off her clothes. One member of the mob then cut her stomach open and her unborn child dropped to the ground where it was reportedly stomped on and crushed by a member of the mob. Her body was then riddled with gunfire from the mob. Later that night she and her baby were buried ten feet away from where they were murdered. The makeshift grave was marked with only a "whiskey bottle" with a "cigar" stuffed in its neck.

Three days after the murder of Mary Turner and her baby, three more bodies were found in the area and Sydney Johnson was killed in a shoot out with police on South Troup Street in Valdosta, Georgia. Once killed, the crowd of more than 700 people cut off his genitals and threw them into the street. A rope was then tied to his neck and his body was drug for nearly 20 miles to Campground Church in Morven, Georgia, 16 miles away. There, what remained of his body was burned. During and shortly after this chain of events it is reported that more than 500 people fled Lowndes and Brooks Counties in fear for their lives.

Russian partisans were killed en masse in Russia. Getting captured meant you were either shot or hanged. Partisans are not protected by the 1929 Geneva Conventions. The sign reads "photography prohibited".

With the head placed under the upper cap and the chin placed above the bottom bar, the top screw of this awful device was slowly turned, compressing the skull tightly.

First the teeth are destroyed, shattering and splintering into the jaw.
Then the eyes are squeezed from the sockets – some versions had special receptacles to catch them.

Lastly, the skull fractures and the contents of the head are forced out. In earlier stages, the torturer could keep the head firmly clamped and strike the metal skull cap periodically; each blow echoing pain throughout the victim’s body.

Necklacing is a type of execution in which a rubber tyre is filled with gasoline, forced over the arms and chest of the victim, and set alight.

It was a common practice in South Africa during the 1980s and 1990s anti-apartheid struggle.
Necklacing sentences were sometimes handed down against alleged criminals by “people’s courts” established in black townships as a means of circumventing the apartheid judicial system.

Necklacing was also used to punish members of the black community who were perceived as collaborators with the apartheid regime.
These included black policemen, town councilors and others, as well as their relatives and associates.

The practice was frequently carried out in the name of the African National Congress (ANC), and was even endorsed by Winnie Mandela, then-wife of the imprisoned Nelson Mandela and a senior member of the ANC, although the ANC officially condemned the practice.

[Wikipedia]Necklacing has also occured in Brazil, and Haiti, and at least one person was killed by this method in Nigeria during muslim protests over the Muhammad Cartoons.

When Cliff Barlow was 7 years old, he moved into a new house with his young parents and baby brother. He liked his new house, all except for the basement of course. He thought it was creepy.

He used to always hear a tapping noise. The highlight was when his mother told him to go there to pick up some laundry, and he went and heard voices.

After that day, he never went back in ever again.

One day his life and his parents life, came shattering down. His baby brother went missing. In his crib was a ransom note saying “pay $20,000 or else the baby dies.” His parents contacted the police and they did everything they could but the baby was never found.

Cliff’s happy life came to a halt. He was robbed of an innocent childhood and a younger brother. He became miserable as did his parents.

20 years later, Cliff was driving along the road. He passed by his former house. Angry at all of it, and how that one night changed so much, he went back to the house to give it a visit.

He went to the basement, and furious as ever he punched the wall. To his surprise, the wall came crumbling down.

Bones

Bones

EVERYWHERE

Skeletons of little children. There must’ve been 20-30 of them. He could even see bite marks of their little hands. And the worst part? They were all missing their skulls.

Police later called and identified one of the skeletons as his little brother.

To this day, the person who did this remains unidentified.

Grady Franklin Stiles, Jr. (June 26, 1937 – November 29, 1992) was a freak show performer. His deformity was ectrodactyly, in which the fingers and toes are fused together to form claw-like extremities. Stiles' stage name was the "Lobster Boy".

Stiles was an alcoholic and was abusive to his family.[1] Due to his ectrodactyly, he was unable to walk. While he often used a wheelchair, he most commonly used his hands and arms for locomotion. He developed incredible upper body strength that, when combined with his temper and alcoholism, made him dangerous to others.

In 1978 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Stiles shot and killed his oldest daughter's fiance on the eve of their wedding. He was brought to trial where he openly confessed to killing the man and was convicted of third degree murder.[2][3] He was not sent to prison as no state institution was equipped to care for an inmate with ectrodactyly. Stiles was instead sentenced to fifteen years probation.

Robert Landsburg was a 48-year old American photographer living in Portland, Oregon when he died in 1980. One of his subjects of choice was Mount St. Helens, the massive volcano in Washington state, which he visited many times to document the constant changes. It was his interest in St. Helens that led to his demise, but not before snapping off this incredible shot.

On the morning of May 18 when the eruption occurred, Landsburg was just a few miles from the peak. Familiar with the gigantic beast, the photographer knew he wouldn’t survive the ashcloud that was quickly heading his way, so he continued taking pictures, and then put the camera in his backpack and laid his body on it to shield it from harm.

His body was found 17 days later buried in ash, with his camera safely tucked away underneath. It was a fitting end for a man whose life’s work claimed him.

Heaven’s Gate was a group of UFO-based religious Millenarians (read: nutjobs) founded in California in the 1970s. Led by head wacko Marshall Applewhite, the organization believed that Earth was about to be wiped clean and in order to survive they had to leave it immediately. Despite being against traditional suicide, their belief system held that suicide was to decline the offer of reaching “the next level”. In order to evacuate Earth, they needed to reach the alien spaceship that they were convinced was traveling behind the Hale-Bopp comet.

In March of 1997, Applewhite convinced 38 of his loons to off themselves via a cocktail of poisons and self-induced asphyxiation, in order for their spirits to leave their bodies and be transported to the craft and another level of existence beyond human. The group was found in their rented mansion in the San Diego area, decomposing in the spring heat.

The bodies were all lying in their bunk beds, faces and bodies covered with a purple cloth, and each sporting $5.75 for “interplanetary toll fare”. Additionally, they were all dressed in matching black shirts, sweats and Nike sneakers, and were believed to have died in three separate groups over the course of three days. The actress who played Uhura on Star Trek, Nichelle Nichols’ brother was among the deceased. The picture above is a photo of the grisly and unfathomable discovery and a sad study of the limitless bounds of stupdity.

Dean Coril, infamously known as The Candy Man due to his penchant for handing out sweets to neighborhood children, is one of the most prolific serial killers in America history. Along with his two accomplices David Brooks and Elmer Henley, Coril raped, tortured and murdered a minimum of 28 boys between the years of 1970 – 1973.

Coril was shot dead by Henley who is currently serving a 600-year sentence in prison for his role in the murders, and in 2012 a filmmaker was granted permission to review his personal effects, which had been dumped in an old school bus. Among them he found a Polaroid of a handcuffed young boy, lying on the floor with a terrified look, Coril’s toolbox of torture implements in the foreground.

It’s a stomach-churning image made even more chilling by the fact that no one knows who the child is, and it means there are more victims of The Candyman that the police were unaware of.
