The bombs
saved civilians and innocent children. The US fukked up in Vietnam.
Besides civilians died in Pearl Harbor -- as well as in Alaska. Japan wanted to be slick, thought they had an easy target. Canada (sweet, never-hurt-anybody ever except internally, the red cross medic of the world Canada) and the US both said, "
No."
War sucks. War is a bytch. War is not cool. But when you start shyt, trying to make other people suffer, then your people suffer and that's on you -- not on those who retaliate. (Which means, as much as September 11 devastates, I've always been of the opinion that the US had it coming and it was a surprise it took so long for it to come. They even had the balls to target the rich instead of the poor. Nobody does that. Be Israel and Saudi Arabia's willing fukkboy bullyboy, brehs and brehettes. Hold on, I think there's a knock at the door....)
Anyway, the Japanese were imitating the Germans, and the Americans of the slave-era and post-slave era, by doing sick shyt to defenseless peoples they considered inferior in the name of science and furthering the war effort. So fukk them.
The Japanese gave no fukks about their treatment of civilians or of combatants. It took a bomb to knock a bit of sense into Japan and stop the madness. It took a second bomb (which is the real controversy) to show that no, the Allies were not bullshyttin'.
I think war is stupid, but I also think being a pansy-ass is worse.... especially being a revisionist pansy-ass towards folks who were the aggressor in the first place. They don't get to cry innocent or mewl about unnecessary violence. Japan started it. The US finished it. fukk them.
As for Vietnam: again, the US fukked up. An official apology should have been made decades ago. The US was wrong to treat that lone officer as a fall-guy. The amount of money and aid poured into Vietnam ever since by the US doesn't make up for getting involved in France's shytpile in the most incompetent way possible.
The same goes for American atrocities committed in Iraq and Afghanistan. We fukk up.
The bombs are not one of them.
