So I haven't been shooting much lately.

Years ago I shot Pentax
K10D
Pentax 50mm 1.4
Pentax 50-135mm 2.8
Pentax FA 31mm 1.8 (that thing was the best lens I ever used) :noah:
And a Tokina 12-24 4.0

But (perhaps like a moron) I sold it to go Nikon because I was frustrated with the AF hunting on my K10D.
So I've had the Nikon D300S for a few years now but between work and other things, just lost interest in shooting.

I don't have the same glass so that might have something to do with it. God damn Nikon glass is expensive.
Now I just have
Nikon 50mm 1.4
Nikon 35mm 2.0
Nikon 24-120 3.5-5.6 VR (bought used. I hate this lens) :snoop:

Need some motivation to go shooting. What do you guys do to go out and take pictures?
What do you normally take pictures of?

And if you don't mind sharing, what equipment do you work with?

Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
I only shoot when the energy moves me to capture reality. My photography style is closely linked to cinematography, so when I see a movie (the cabin sequence at the beginning of the movie Mama is a cinematography masterpiece. Stills of some of those shots could easily be framed and put on a wall) or a TV show that blows my mind(Mad Men constantly impresses me), it usually motivates me go out and take some shots. When I am moved to pick up my gear I like to do street photography and casual portraits. I sold most of my gear a year ago, so now I only use a Nikon D600 paired with a Sigma 35mm 1.4. That setup generally gets the job done for my style of photography.

I think going outside with just one prime is a challenge, but it's a good challenge.

I struggle with it. I always want to switch lenses. But maybe the problem is that I bring other lenses to begin with.

Yep. I had a bag full of lenses at one point man. I found that once I went to a minimalist bag, I shot more. It definitely makes you think about what you want to shoot a lot more.

love photography but ive been lazy for awhile,
The cold weather probably doesn't help. Especially in Toronto.

I'm also thinking...I go to the gym 3-4 days a week. The last thing I want to do is haul my camera bag and gym bag and stuff it in a locker with a big ass wool coat.

I don't. I mean I think I opened one up just to share some pics I took at a friend's daughter's birthday party like 5 years ago. But those pics sucked and I never added anything else in there. Probably forgot my login.

I'm not nearly as good as some of the people in that other photography thread.

You have some nice shots. Really great sharpness in some of them.
Looks like you shot a lot in Cuba! That must've been a great trip.
