As a long time vzw customer I can attest to the fact that verizon's 3G speeds are:flabbynsick:

But that 4G LTE is :ahh:

Since you don't like the current phones and will be looking to upgrade soon, def get the iPhone...it has the best resale value/market. But I don't know why you wouldn't want the Nexus, I'm loving mine, even without jelly been :lawd:

Resale value its the iPhone, the best phone is the galaxy s iii right now.

I have noticed a quite noticeable speed bump with sprint 3g lately, I think its all those people jumping on the lte.

I haven't. No 4G or LTE in my area. Getting the same slow speeds.

Verizon has the best combo of service in my area and spots I have to visit for work a few times a year. The price that I will pay is very close to my current price and I'm comfortable with that. Its like a catch 22 with price compared to Sprint. I can pay for unlimited everything with Sprint and never get enough speed to even justify using the damn internet or I can pay for much more that I currently use on Verizon and actually get good service.

I'm in a smaller southern metro area. I travel all over the south all the time and across the country a few times a year. I have to account for everywhere I'll be.

I used to have TMobile on contract in 2010 and they weren't bad in the metro area at all but as soon as you go off the grid, it was terrible.

Haven't had ATT for a while but they're cool for what they have. know people with them and there's not a major problem.

Was considering straight talk, but I don't know anyone with it so I don't have the experience. I've read mixed reviews though. I'd be willing to try it. Just need a cheap pocket rocket to test the networks.

What's bad 3G to you?

The only reason I don't want the Nexus is that its closing in on being a year old. I'd be locked in for almost two years. I usually update sooner but i still have to consider if i do have to keep it the full term. If they had great resale value like the iPhone I'd fop and flip but I'd rather go to the dark side for 3 months and sell the phone for much more than I paid for it. The new Nexus devices are right around the corner and I'd rather have one of those. No knock on it though. I have a Nexus S 4G on JB and its good.

Straight talk uses TMobile and AT&T towers. Just have to tell them which when you being in your new phone.

TMobile's hspa+ shyts all over AT&T though

What kind of speeds are you getting?
I never used straight talk, just simple mobile with T-Mobile. They offer unlimited everything with their 4G speed at $60 per month.

I don't remember speed tests, but when I was on T-Mobiles "4G" it felt at least double the speed of AT&T's "4G"

Only Verizon has LTE in my area and I almost jumped like you, but could not give up unlimited data. Sprint has me forever if they can guarantee Unlimited LTE for me, if they pull that shady shyt like throttling I am gone and going contract free from here on out for good.

at&t's 3g network shyts all over anyone else, including verizon.

iPhone 4S on straight talk:

A T-Mobile phone should be even faster.

Just making sure you explore your options breh, I hate contracts.

How strict are they about unlimited? Do they start capping after 5GB like T-Mobile? I heard that Straight Talk gives one warning then they'll cut the service off.

Anybody with the Verizon GS3 have any impressions? I may just break down and get a 16GB and a 32GB card and call it a day. I trust the coli (well most of y'all :russ:) more than the other sites.

QUESTION :

with straight talk,..

i heard all you have to do is slam a sim card in any at&t phone and the simcard unlocks the phone regardless if it is on a contract or not.

IS THIS TRUE?

also,...i heard the data is capped, and they will bump you off the service.

or is this negative at&t online marketing to prevent you from switching?

help me,...breh?

There is a on XDA about this.(I'll make sure to link it when I get to my laptop). People in there answered yes to both questions. You can get capped and bumped but there is no method to how they do it. Read about some 3-5GB a month users going under the radar while some 1-2 GB users getting throttled, warned and/or dropped.
