Did Cleanthony improve or is summer league just that shytty? He showed flashes but it honestly looks like he really just took advantage of playing against no defense playing scrubs.

it's hard to tell cause like you said it's the summer league but he does look more confident with his shot

We all know it's one game and are judging it off one game . But we are allowed to enjoy that one game and the fact he showed flashes. As Knicks fans we need to take some enjoyment in minor victories . I remember the 54 win season all these guys not enjoying the season at all . I didn't want this pick but I saw something in him that I can at least see an idea of what Phil thought , a 7footer who can shoot and athletic and mobile as he is

All I'm asking is you guys keep a realistic expectation of dude. It was only 18 mins of summer league play. Us Knicks fans have a tendency to get too excited & overrating our rookies. Frye & Fields come to mind.

IMO dude does not need to handle the rock as a Point Forward at all. He can't set up plays to pass & turns the ball over too much because his handle isn't that great either.

What I saw as a strength from him was his set shot & off screen shots. He establishes that as his main offensive weapon then he can use a simple pump fake (like he did in the 2nd half) to get clear drives to the basket. (he can really hurt teams with this)

Still needs work on defense though :francis:

So you clones finally giving Porzingis a chance to prove himself? :mjlol:
I always laugh at sports fans who are quick to be critical of FO moves. Sometimes you just gotta trust that the people who get paid big $ JUST MIGHT have clue of what they're doing. Sure some moves can backfire. All im saying is sometimes you gotta be patient.
When Riley drafted D-Wade my initial reaction was "who's that?". Knowing Riley i figured Wade would be a defensive stud. He was being advertised as the next Gary Payton if you guys remember. I wasnt excited but i figured ..ehh.. let's see. He turned out okay:ehh:
Ever since the day they drafted McNabb as Eagles fans booed i stopped jumping to conclusions about draft choices until ive had a chance to see them in action/

Did you think he's going to be a impact player or a bust when seeing him off top?

So far he looks solid so were letting his game do the talking

WHen i first heard the Knicks drafted him i was afraid. Afraid he might be ... good. If not Great. Face it, it's not secret that I hate you bums :smugdraper:
My reason for thinking this is for Phil to bypass other obvious (consensus) NBA-READY talent he must have seen SOMETHING in the kid.
And this is not like Detroit with Milicic (sp). Detroit had a loaded championship-ready team and could afford to take a high-risk/high-reward type gamble while Darko develops behind Wallace (Ben and Rasheed). The Knicks do NOT have such luxury.
So while i enjoyed and toasted watching you bums be miserable for a few days over the draft Im now back to my paranoid :lupe: pattern fearing this kid might actually be good. I saw the summer-league games. I like how fluid he is for a 7-footer.
