O'Quinn move was excellent. Another big and gives Knicks some options in Melo small ball lineups and Melo small forward lineups which is huge. Still don't see a playoff team, but I like it. If one of the young guns (Early, Thanasis) can step up, it will be interesting.
The problem with Boston, however, is that you don't have a star on the roster. Like LA, it's tough to build without it. Cap Space means nothing because it's Boston and if someone has an option of Boston and other places, Boston will lose. Then, your assets, while tradable, are nothing special. You're basically hoping that Brooklyn implodes, which I doubt will happen because they continue to get smaller, nicer assets and if they move Deron Williams, they suddenly have a ton of cap space in 2016 and could stay in the top half of the east. We really don't know how desirable Brooklyn is yet because they tied themselves up before they even moved to New York.
If Marcus Smart becomes a star guard, then you can start building something. Until you find the first star, you're just collecting assets, which is cool, but eventually, those seasons just continue to add up, and you're still hoping that you can get a star with said draft pick. Justise Winslow is a fine draft prospects, but the Celtics were willing to move six draft picks -- four first rounders -- for him. That says something to me, not positive.
