A few more things came to mind. By the way, while it can be funny to read, im not into the whole console war stuff.
Some people are giving Xbox credit for reversing the decision but thats the wrong way to look at this.
The Xbox Live price hike post gave no reason as to why they doubled the price to begin with. They didn’t cite raising costs of maintenance for servers or anything at all.
This is because they had no reason to jump that high in price and they tried to get one over on gamers. They didnt stand by their decision because it was BS to begin with. That is why it was so easy to reverse.
Its not the same as $70 games, Apple removing USB power bricks or other unpopular moves by big tech companies. There was no reason/explanation/justification. No attempt at all.
Its insulting when you think about it. A blatant ploy to get people to move to higher priced subscription based Gamepass.
It was also bad for their partners. From AAA 3rd party games to indies that require online. If they werent on Gamepass, they would be dead on the Xbox platform.
Its like they don’t think over there. Xbox management is terrible. They dont care about Xbox as a platform at all. This shows in every move they have made for the past year.
