So true, you don't see white celebs trying to give their 2 cents about poverty stricken rednecks in Alabama.

And what makes it worse, Pharrell just does a horrible job, even his explanation for the Girl LP cover was :snoop:.

That's cuz white celebs don't have the arduous task of having to represent their colour/culture/race. A white celeb can act a fool (Mel Gibson) and people will just be like, oh mel you so crazy

One black celeb gets fukked up and does dumb shyt (Martin Lawrence for example), and the stigma is somehow spread to many other black people, magically. We minorities have gotta be more careful of what we do, to be honest.

And will someone tell skateboy p to ditch that goddamn canadian mountie hat bullshyt

Me focusing on my color is of no consequence....

Now....Them white folks in authority focusing on my color is the elephant in the room....

So motherfukk you and your passive aggressive stance

Asking me to solve a problem I didn't create.....FOH!!!!!!! :camby:

I don't understand when people will realize that we aren't the one with the problem. They are the ones with the problem...it is their behavior toward us. We don't have to fix anything about being black. They have to deal with their own problem toward black people

african americans are assimilating into cacdom more and more everyday... that is what post racial america truly is. :russ:

Great Quote. Post Racial America is African Americans assimilating. That is it in a nutshell. If you do not assimilate into greater society then you are going to have a lot of hardship in life. Case in point look at how Afro Brazilians who still worship Yoruba Orishas in Brazil are treated. Those Afro Brazilians have decided to make Yoruba culture a part of their lives and they are suffering for it. In-fact if you take a look at the way the whole world works, countries that do not assimilate into the western model of society are ostracized and demonized by the powers that be

That is why when blacks like Pharell come out with this crap i just :snoop:

Then I remember a great quote. "Only the ignorant scream for peace"

I'm Black and as much as I try to focus on just being human, I'm reminded by the dominant group of my Blackness.

this is what me and that cac @cinna_man were discussing. He basically was telling black people to let go of all of our culture, no longer 'be black' despite the hardships you face for being black. Act like everything is okay and just surrender everything into white society. Dude even said make our culture Public Domain so whites could access it & do what they want with it (& we need to basically shut up about it).

Post-Racial America doesn't and will never exist because America created the concept of race, racism, and white supremacy from the transatlantic slave trade. How can it be post-racial when it was built on and continues to profit from the division of power provided by race and racism?

This is a pipe dream created by white people...who have no concept of race and racism to begin with...and black Americans fell for the bait.

I like Pharell and his music and his influence, but to give up being "black" for being American is a pipe dream. We wanted to, but the rest of America doesn't want to and it's so obvious.
