I really didnt like this album when it dropped, Id give it a second chance though.

really weird for me because I am a huge OK fan...so when the album came out I liked it but didnt think it was a classic and after playing it for a good bit I put it away never to return to it til now and listening to it again....I slept on how good it actually was. I always thought Monch albums were just "ok" for me being such a big fan of his...but listening at this again, would have to say its unquestionably his best album.

I did not particularly like this album either especially since it was released in close proximity to Mos Def 'Black on Both Sides '

I was unimpressed and acrually returned the Monch L.P. to the Tower Records. Tower Records had a liberal CD return policy at the time.

I may revisit and stream tho it's been 20 years for me.

its a great album...probably a classic or damn near. like I said, I was underwhelmed a bit too when I first got it but thats because I am such a huge fan....but listening to it now and you can see on this one he wasnt as formulaic as on his later albums. which those are good but sometimes seems like he was overthinking it...but on this one, the album just feels so natural.

Great album. If you own a physical copy, keep it. It was pulled from the record store shelves due to Godzilla clearance. I still have mine and the 12 inches from that album. I still have the IA and BOBS postcard type promotion flyer. I bought everything that came out in Rawkus at that time. I didn’t even have to hear it. If I saw that blade, it was bought automatically

Rape is a conceptual master piece and that's not even my favorite song on the album. This is the definition of an underrated body of work that never got it's just due..it's a top 10 hip hop album for me, considering the time it came out alongside the level of lyricism Monch gave us. If you love lyrics in hip hop you need to have this album .
