what the fukk has he spent it on, then? :russ:

The money hasn't been spent, that's what he was saying in his answer. He said a certain amount of money is being granted to each state to have the chargers built and in place by 2030. The $7.5 billion quoted was the amount authorized in the bill, not the amount that has been spent already. The money has to pass from the federal government to the states first, then the states have to make the plan for the chargers in their area and build accordingly.

If you have evidence otherwise, then provide it. But I haven't seen any evidence for the claim your tweet made.

Why are you so quick to believe lies so long as they come from a right-wing source?

Lying about what? Do you think the federal government hasn't given funding to the states for this program?

The allegations were started by this article in Autoweek from 3 weeks ago. It never claims that the money has already been spent, it says that there are delays in the implementation of the program due to the need to comply with numerous regulations, and that 20 states have announced 500 additional sites already (which is proof that the $7.5 billion wasn't spent on the first 8 chargers). The initial complaint was specifically about the slow pace of rollout, NOT the cost per charger.

Are you aware that the claim that the $7.5 billion has already been spent is just a spurious Twitter allegation made by random right-wingers who either misread the original article or (more likely) purposely misinterpreted it because they knew idiots like you would eat up that allegation like candy?

when a neutral anchor on CBS is laughing in your face, it's possible that you've underachieved

you're one of the worst government shills i've ever seen in my life. i'm actually impressed. these high interest rates are clearly being well justified, by people we can trust

The CBS anchor asked, "Why isn't that happening more quickly?" She NEVER says that they've spent $1 billion per charger. That interpretation was a full lie made by the right-wing twitter lords that you devoutly obey.

You got caught pushing a lie, I gave the exact receipts to show where the lie came from, and all you can do is deflect with ad hominems. You assume it takes a bias to support basic facts, because you don't even know the facts, you only know how to operate from your biases.

if you gave Elon 7.5 billion dollars, how many chargers do you think he'd have installed in 3 years

None, he just fired his entire supercharger team. He'd probably dump the money into those interest payments coming due on his massive Twitter loan. :mjlol:

I mean, we're talking about the same Elon who rolls everything out 6 years later than he initially promises it, right? :dead:

I know you didn't even read the answer, but the federal government isn't building the chargers, they're granting money to the states to do so. I'm not an expert on chargers, but apparently making the plan to place them and correctly addressing both federal and state regulations for doing it the right way has taken some time.

Whether that's justifiable or not, you and your right-wing twitter lords straight lied about the money already being gone and it costing $1 billion per charger. They know that complaining about the truth is ambiguous, so they make up easier to digest lies instead.

i accept the fact that you're impressed with mediocrity :salute: we can leave it at that

i'm just glad that climate change apparently isn't the year-to-year threat that greta thunberg said it was

Greta isn't rolling out this program, corporate dems in the federal government are. One of the reasons I can't stand Buttigieg, Biden, and the rest of the establishment Democrats is because I don't think they take environmental collapse even 1/10th as seriously as they should. I've said that repeatedly on here, including when I opposed both of their candidacies for president and said that I didn't think Buttigieg should have any role in the administration.

But making up random lies about government programs doesn't help my agenda. You believe that lying, no matter how bad the source is, will somehow get you a win. I don't lie about people just because I disagree with them.

yeah, because nothing screams urgency like progressives setting up transgender awareness training for employees, before any car chargers are installed :mjlol:

again, that woman on CBS is not catturd. she's not sean hannity. it seems like a reasonable reaction and level of expectation to me :yeshrug:

Who cares. Most people live relatively close to an EV charger.

There’s always going to be some planning involved in what’s needed and then realization.

Framing it as lost money because they haven’t been built yet seems like outrage for the sake of outrage.

I’d be more concerned if they were built in bad locations or weren’t working.

Cac mamba is in rare form....creh brought out Elon, transgenders and greta all on one page 😂

This is one of the fukkd up parts about how our governments operate. In most countries there seems to be a lot more coordination between national and local governments. It probably helps that they are generally more aligned ideologically on issues like cleaner energy. But here all the feds can do is give money. Then we have to rely on 50 governors all of whom think they're mini presidents and thousands of state/local reps, city councils, local officials from zoning to environmental boards etc etc to have their say. This is one of the reasons why for instance billions and billions of covid stimulus funds are still unspent by various local governments.

These chargers are actually a big issue here in Illinois. One of the things that has caused a little bit of delay here (and I'm sure other places as well) is that local governments always want to give as much money to local firms. But unfortunately most of the big players in this industry are out of state. So they're literally scouring the state for companies that can handle the installation etc.
