Man fukk that. My moms is from NYC grew up in Van Dyke Housing Projects and of course her ghetto ass wanna go see where she grew up at. Get there shyt looks like fukking Calcutta. The whole block looking at us. I'm nervous as fukk(U can say whatever) and so she's trying to bribe her way into where she grew up at, the chick who owned the place couldn't have been more than 21 and had kids all over the place. So she's like nah. We walk out Me, Moms, Pops, Uncle, Sis, and these nikkas approach my dad talking bout he the police or some dumb shyt. I'm like gotdamn, I'm finna die in wack ass Brownsville. Anyways they fall back. and we leave but man...nah fukk that.
LOL
Well if you go to some rough areas.

I don't know what's going on in Brownsville these days. A lot of Brooklyn is being remodeled by hipsters and people who don't want to spend the money to live in Manhattan. Still, the area is getting expensive. Queens, too.

Brownsville is where Mike Tyson grew up. And back in the 70s and 80s, it was not a place you wanted to be.

I dunno.
When I transferred back to NYC after working in LA, I thought about moving into Woodside or Long Island City, but ultimately decided to stay up here in the suburbs. Some websites that list apartments will show you recent criminal activity in the area, and that will creep you out.

I went to school in Marietta, OH for two years which just has over 3,000 people. I had fun there, but it really was boring. But that's why it was fun. I made friends, made the most of it, and had good times. I had a bunch of friends from the college to the locals.

But any place can be fun or can suck...it's what you make of it.

Also people who say they're bored in small cities dont explore there home town;they would stay home, go to work and go to the club once in a while and that's it. There are some many things you can do in small towns or small cities if you just explore.

Small towns are fun to cruise around on the weekend.... I remember my dad driving us around the outside of Austin... just cruising....

Texas has some beautiful rural areas I wouldn't mind living in.... especially the piney woods region.....

As a small town/city dude I would say....... Small town people are just as ratchet as big city folk for the fact that there isn't as much to do compared to a big city. My city made top 10 cities for murder back in 2010-11. OOW is crazy too because there isn't as many people. Most of the folks that grow up here get their education then move to out of state, mostly to Texas. If we didn't have an Army base, the city wouldn't be marked on a map.
