Who knows man but those numbers are fukkin' nuts. Chicago has always been a wild city too - any place that Al Capone can call home is sure to be wild.

murders are down drastically nationwide. pretty much everywhere besides chicago. its like 3x the national average.

instead of comparing the city to its former self, compare it to comparable cities.

peopleare only concerned with what the media tells them to be concerned with...

in turn, people pay attention to what the media portrays

only for the media to respond to the attention by feeding them more of what they want.

but nah, man. them mid to late 90s what hot as fukk, right. Young black men were still an endangered species. lol

:what: what the fukk are you talking about? Chicago crime the past 5 years is down compared to the previous 5 years, we dont gotta go back to 1990 to see this, we can go back to 2005-2010, crime has been down since THEN.

While murders are down in LA and New York, they are up or staying around the same in places like philly, detroit, oakland, baltimore, st louis and a lot of the smaller cities that get shyt poppin like gary indiana and richmond california

:stopitslime: you needa learn some shyt first before slanging around some bull shyt about 3x the national average

970 murders is like 3 each day in a city of millions. You would have to have terrible luck to be that dude that day. That is bad but still livable.

Its nice how you conveniently left out 2012 in your "analysis" of Chicago.

Why are people talking about the crime in Chicago right now? Cause in 2012 Chicago's murder rate increased, while the national murder rate was the lowest its been in the past 50 years. Thats why. The media took notice and are giving this attention.

Cherry pick shytty cities no one cares about all you want and post their murder rate to support your "argument" if you think thats going to prove your point. But the fact remains in the past calendar year, Chicago, a global city, bucked the national trend. If you dont see why the white media would pay more attention to a city like Chicago as opposed to Oakland or Detroit to begin with, then this discussion has been futile from jump.

As far as I know, 2013 seems a lot less crime riddled as compared to 2012 in Chicago, so next year the national spotlight will probably be on another city. We'll have to see.
