I've always been curious as to what exactly is meant when people say things like this. How/Why are these skills so lacking?

That's 'cause when they were young, none of 'em went outside to interact with other kids except for school. Blame Nintendo/Sega/Sony.

I haven't seen groups of kids playing outside during the summer in 10+ years.​
