Those saying this wasn't harsh enough don't understand all the implications here.

$60 million fine means the athletic department basically makes no money this year.

4 year bowl ban means none of the current players are incoming recruits are going to want to stay.

4 year scholarship reduction, in all honesty they may as well take walk ons, I think they will be hard pressed to sign 15 D1 level athletes a year for at least the next 3 years.

The above 2 comments means they are going to have a sorry ass squad, no network is going to want to put them on TV, which is essentially a TV ban.

Wins vacated means they have no history since '98, JoPae is no longer holds the record.

This is a new death penalty, essentially they probably would have been better off with the death penalty.

Basically the NCAA gave them the death penalty without giving it to them. Penn State ain't gonna do shyt for a long long time. I know Michigan and Ohio State are having this face right now because the recruits that would have went to Penn State would go to Michigan or OSU now

Big difference btw eliminating 13 years of a career and those three which lasted a year or two. Paterno coached for that record now his name is not even in the top 10 for the record books. That will hurt his family and the most ardent PSU supporter.

Only people I feel sorry for are the players that was there during those 14 years. Their whole college career have been erased.

How is not worse than a one year ban? They are essentially being banned for 4 years. Whose gonna goto Penn State after this? Even if you wanted to go they can only give like 15 schollies a year now. And if you go you'll essentially be playing for nothing, no bowl games, the school has a bad reputation...
