This isnt a harsh enough punishment. That money is nothing to them. They have individual boosters that have dropped upwards of 75 million at a time. They raised over 200 million this year alone.

They should have given them at least a 1 year tv ban as well.

i don't think they should have got a one year suspension b/c that would have destroyed a lot of businesses in happy valley that depend on the football program for their livelihood. one year tv ban would be good too.

Now every time there's a criminal violation, NCAA is gonna have to step in..they're really setting a bad precedent by going this harsh.

And I agree, side-by-side comparing this to Reggie it looks like PSU should've gotten more penalized, but they just went too hard on Reggie more than anything.

-heisman vacated, including all wins reggie played in (bowls, 2005 championship)

I agree breh, they allowed heinous acts to continue under their direct knowledge. I knew the NCAA wouldn't have the guts to do what's right.

I won't lie they dropped a bomb on em but when u compare this to other punishments for BS...they didnt go far enough.

This is worse than a one year ban because if you hear what they said, that $60 million is the equivalent of one year of football revenue for starters. Forcing lesser amounts of scholarships forces them to field lesser quality players on the team, thus having bad records is almost assured and a bowl ban means like a loss of about $40 million ($10 million) per year is lost. When adding the two up, the 'death penalty' is the easier way out. A one year ban only takes 1-2 years to get over. We might see PSU be good again by 2022 now with this. PSU would have preferred the 'death penalty.

i mean basically. think about USC and how they ate these last three years like scooby snacks. now they have the top recruiting class in the country and don't even acknowledge reggie bush. PSU will be fine. The worst thing about this is the wins vacated from joepa's record.
