finals game 7 - two free throws, down by 1 or even down by 2 and player has a chance to tie and or win the game.

world cup - 90 minute penalty kick try and can win the game with the kick

field goal - self explanatory after today's game.

those arent comparable tho...a FG can be from different hash, from any distance...the other two are fixed distance so muscle memory plays bigger part. also theres a goalie in the soccer scenario and mind games there....

Penalty kick can be stopped by a great save.

Free throw is all self pressure, you don't have anyone else to blame if you miss, no weather issue either.

(1) Penalty kicks - The goalie has a chance of defending it, and because you are using your feet, it requires more skill and practice...

(2) Field goal - The defense has a slim chance of defending, and because you are using your feet, it requires more skill and practice...

(3) Free Throws - The name says it all...It is a Free throw...There is NO defender...It is all up to you, if you don't make it, you can't shoot and/or you are mentally weak...Every basketball player should be able to make at least 70% of his throws...That's the minimum...Those who can't, have very little skill...

Field goals. You have 11 men who's job is to block the kick. Everything has to be good for a kicker the snap has to be good the hold has to be good the kick can be perfect and it still can be blocked.

Field goals also have an important element to it the weather. Rain,snow, wind does effect a kick.
