I had to educate myself on the draft and the lottery. I ain't expecting the doomsday scenario but I need a contingency plan just in case. For the people that avoid the draft.... You do realize that if you don't go, the U.S. government will strip you of all of your rights because your actions would constitute as treason. You will sit in jail but they will take your driver's license, you cannot go to college or apply for government aid... They will do everything short of revoke your citizenship until you decide to either join or renounce your citizenship and leave the country.
I'm sure the military can take out north korea in the time it takes for me to get through training.
I always wanted to see Asia though.
It's funny now but so much can go wrong. We weren't alive for the last go around and NK is talkin nukes. I personally never wanted to see Asia(although the foods of those respective cultures are good). My philosophy is.. You stay where you're at and I'll stay where I'm at.... Don't start no s**t, won't be no s**t.
Yet the most the school with the most undergraduates right now is Arizona State
I still don't personally believe North Korea is going to do shyt. You have to remember, since March 1st they've been threatening to do something.
They have to show this rhetoric every so often to appear strong to their people, but ultimately the regime wants to stay in power and have control over their people. They know an attack by them is an automatic end to their regime.
Secondly, a good indicator of "War" happening is in the markets. The Markets aren't even reacting to NK's threat because even the market is used to the nonsense talk from NK for years now.
Third, the US military is hugely underrated by people here on the coli. If we look back on the Iraq War of 2003, the United States did knock out Saddam's military pretty quickly, it was the insurgents, al queda, and saddam loyalist that made the war longer than it needed to be, but the actual Iraqi military was already defeated.
I feel you and I hope it doesn't come to that you must realize that....
1)The U.S. government does not have the finances to fund this even if it were to take place, nor the manpower(unless they draft and even then... NK is a baby China). Our war resources will be stretched pretty thin.
2)This is a no win situation for the U.S. because if they lose it will be a second embarrassment. If they win, so what... more debt is amassed. China benefits regardless whether NK is toppled, giving them more control of the region or giving themselves more financial control of the US economy.
3)Those fools in NK are gassin that fool up(Un) and baiting him to give an order for a physical act of war. I think that the government officials are in his head, bruh.. Callin him weak and a p*ssy, ect.
4)Nobody wins in nuclear war.
5)We thought it was gonna be a cakewalk last time.
1), The United States always will always have enough funds to finance a War, we'll just keep adding to the debt , Also, I don't think Manpower would be needed early on, this would be an air assault in the early stages, and actually with troops being withdrawn from Iraq/Afghanistan, we have enough man power, I don't see a draft ever coming into play,
2)..One thing you have to understand, China depends on us as much as we depend on them. Their economy is tied up in the Stability and existence of the United States, it is also in their best interest that War doesn't arise, that's why EVEN China has agreed to the Sanctions against NK, China has let NK getaway with a lot in the past but now they are fed up.
3), I believe the Military men behind Un is telling him that "appearance" is everything, so he must show some sort of street cred to his people in order for them to not lose faith in him. That's why they've done these ridiculous photo ops with a Map of the united states and the highlighted targets they plan to attack, what serious military does that?..You are telling and showing the enemy the targets you plan to attack?
4). True, nobody wins in Nuclear war, but experts believe NK missiles can't even reach the US Mainland, and if a missile happens to hit one of our Islands, the reaction time to eliminate NK would be swift.
5), and what last time are we talking about? Iraq?/Afghanistan?, Like I said, we took out the Iraqi Military out pretty quickly, it was the insurgency of Al Queda that the US was dealing with for the long term.
you guys want to see nuclear weapons used. you internet cool guys want 1000's of people to die so you can prove a point?
everything's a fukkin game to yall
