Payton Manning comes back from an injury and has a typical Peyton Manning season.

I look at MVP like this.

Most Valuable Player

Value /ˈvalyo͞o/
Noun
The regard that something is held to deserve; the importance or preciousness of something: "your support is of great value".

Here is one way to evaluate MVP. If the offer was on the table for both teams to trade players straight up, who would take that deal? I would think the Vikings would jump at that deal and the Broncos would pass on it.

nothing amazing bout Manning season, Rodgers and Brady season is just as good if not better than his. MVP should be AD.

This is stupid. I understand if you want AD to be MVP, but don't dismiss what Peyton did to comeback from his injury because his injury was even more devastating that Adrians knee. Give Peyton the same credit, if not more for coming back because the man couldn't throw a football a year ago. A 10 year old had a better arm than Peyton Manning did after his surgery and the doctor's weren't sure he'd be functional let alone a NFL QB. He threw a ball to Todd Helton in a training room and got laughed at. AD was GUARANTEED to come back to football it was just a matter of how fast. Peyton didn't even get that from doctors as far as injuries go Peyton's was MUCH harder to come back from than Adrian's. It was uncharted territory SO stop using AP's injury as a reason why he should win over Peyton.

For the record I think it should be co-mvp and Peyton should win comeback player.

Their injuries should have NO bearing on the MVP award. None, whatsoever.

AD had the better year. We'll remember this season of his 10 years from now. Peyton was very good this year, but it wasn't an all-time performance.

First post and even the title of this thread bring up the injuries. I'm saying the same thing as you. If you bring up Adrian's injury and give him credit for that then do the same with Peyton. I don't think injuries should be a part of the discussion either, but if we're looking at it without the injuries.

Peyton took a mediocre team and made them the best team in the AFC (at least record wise)

vs

Adrian took a terrible team and made them a playoff team.

If you took them both away from their teams they'd both be terrible. The award ain't just about stats I think it's more about team impact and their impact on their team was about equal to me. If it was just about performance then Calvin Johnson would be mentioned more because he had the most yards than any other WR in the history of the league. We'll be talking about CJ's season a lot more than AP's because he actually broke a record.

We're not saying the same thing, tho. You're saying if you bring up AD's injury, then you gotta bring up Peyton's. I'm saying if you bring up AD's injury, don't.

With regards to the underlined, that's bullshyt. The Broncos not only made the playoffs, they won a playoff game last year. You can't ignore that just to build up Peyton's story. They'd be somewhat less than mediocre at least without Peyton...the Vikings would be terrible.

With regards to CJ, he deserves OPOY, cuz he put on the most impressive offensive performance. I'm glad you brought him up, cuz comparing his season to AD's shows exactly whyAD's season is about more than just stats.

Come on. That Bronco team last year was lightning in a bottle and even then they weren't that good. They were the 7th best team record wise and only got into the playoffs because the nfl doesn't take the top 6 teams regardless of division. They beat the steelers on a 1 in a million play then when they played an actual good team they got the brakes beat off them. Tebow wasn't gonna pull that shyt off again. ESPN's coverage of the Broncos made them seem like they were better than they actually were

No, they weren't that good...that's why I describe a division winning team that won a road playoff game as "somewhat less than mediocre"

The Vikings would be terrible without AD. Can't say the same for Denver.

And "one play" doesn't get them into overtime against the steelers:beli:

I love how people selectively get semantic with MVP. We all know that MVP is about numbers, wins, and compelling story(if there is one) and really has nothing to do with actual value. We all knew that a great season from Manning and the Broncos would automatically put him in the running. Absolutely no one saw this coming from APAD and he definitely deserves it but let's not act like missing a full season and then coming back to have a year like Peyton has had isn't worthy in it's own right. It will most likely be a tie.
