A lot of attics are not built to hold a lot of heavy items to say nothing of people but also today's houses are def way more flimsy than houses built in the last century.

sounds like who ever started this thread never lived in a house and does not know if you have a unfinished attic you can go thru sheet rock if you step on it:ehh:

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
Happened to me while doing an estimate to clean a attic when I first started my business :snoop:

Fell through and left a big hole in the guy's ceiling with hella dust and debris in his living room. Then I had to tell him we wouldn't be able to do it. He was cool about it though. We got a plastic tarp to cover the hole, cleaned up the mess and got up outta there.
I inspect houses for energy efficiency and in my almost 20 years in this occupation, I've put my foot straight through a ceiling one time after slipping off a beam. Since then, I keep a piece of 4" thick x 48" long plywood as a standard part of my kit on my truck.​
