Paul Wall is cool but this is contrarian nonsense. Terrible take. And I agree with most of yall that Em's music is insufferable post-Encore.

EDIT: Wowwww at the poll :russ:

And the nail in the coffin (pun intended)

Don't get it fukked up. Paul is dope and he's from our city so he'll have my love and support but he's missing something that yall whiteboys can't see and that's soul.

See yall see the flavor and assume it's soul but it's not. And that's because yall version of soul is country. So unless somebody is singing it doesn't register as that. But Em, Pac, X, all had soul and its that soul that drew/draws people to them.

And while Paul is from our city and fits our sound to a T; there's a reason why eventhough our city is the city of syrup, crack and wet is what the fiends fukk with and not H. And why Chamillionaire had the hood on lock compared to swishahouse and Ro (Ro had it popping with the album with i hate u and its follow up).

The question was who makes better music. The answer is Paul Wall. Em is the dopest white rapper to touch a pen, but that doesn't translate into great songs. He will always have his first 4 albums if you count Infinite, plus some 8-Mile tracks. But from a Black listeners ears, the majority would listen to Paul all day.

Everybody from the city fukk with Paul, while Detroit rappers ain't trying to do nothing with Em. They give him props for his ability, but they ain't tryna make no songs with him.

That's false. It's easier to say everybody from the H fukk with Paul because he makes similar music. You're comparing rappers who make club and car music to an rapper who don't. And even then, said Detroit rappers still want a feature from Em (Tee Grizzly, Sada Baby, etc).

This site is backwards. If Paul Wall and Eminem dropped albums today, a lot of posters wouldn't even bother posting in the thread or even discussing the album. Meanwhile, Eminem thread would be multiple pages even if its posters using the same talking points from over a decade ago.

some of Paul Wall's albums are still in my rotation :yeshrug:

can't say I've bumped an Eminem album in years

I think I tried to listen to one of his newer releases (Music To Kill To or something) and I was like nah every track sounds the same :francis:

Paul wall couldn't sell out a high school gymnasium outside of Houston dolo.
Nah. We ain't doing that. Dude can still hit the chitlin circuit and make bank. He just ain't in the same league as Em. There's a reason why Em was in everybody's (I'm talking mainstream rappers) and he wasn't.
