Thread got me on youtube lookin up hits from 2003-2005.
I doubt this is a very serious case, I know the state can lean a little harder in Texas, but it's not federal, it's not cocaine, oxycontin, heroin, meth, it's manufacturing weed, or some variant. Could be wax. I know that's big out here in SD, DEA has been on it, raiding labs, and they are serious, because it's a threat like meth labs were, because they can explode, very easily. He'll have money for bail, very good atorney's, and obviously this wasn't his main hustle, so he'll have income. I liked one song from Paul Wall, 'Am What I Am', some dude on another verse was talking about selling ounces of yay, and that shyt stuck with me. Paul Wall was always too soft as a rapper for me to get into. But, I remember the Houston era well, if not very fondly.
