She wouldn’t be on tv today if they didn’t want her there. If they let her walk it’ll just add to the downfall. She could easily go to ESPN or some network and have a role like a Maria Taylor or something. You can’t fire Joy over the shyt that apparently went down, the backlash would’ve been louder than any normal day show that network would put on tv.
Yeah, I’m on vacation and don’t have time to go in intense set but this isn’t how employment law works or how issues are negotiated. This is kind of a myopic point of view that’s not even engaging with the issues at play. Let’s put aside that there’s an active lawsuit against Fox because of her and culpability for that alone is means to fire someone. It doesn’t have to be for any of the other fukking around shyt that was talked about which was just meant to embarrass her.
It would have nothing to do with “backlash” because Joy isn’t that popular and isn’t some big name brand outside of some dudes who think she’s attractive. She isn’t a ratings driver and this isn’t Good Morning America. The issue would be if Joy threatened a lawsuit for gender discrimination because everyone’s fukking over there and doing the same shyt and/or sexual harassment. All this would’ve been considered and negotiated when Disney talked to their lawyers and considered all the options available to it.
They don’t need to loudly fire her. They could’ve just paid her to stay home and out a non-disparagement clause and non disclosure clause in the settlement agreement. But without knowing her specific wants, the facts the internal investigation showed or to what degree they found her liable - it’s all speculation based on the type of issues typically at play for businesses.
