Suggestion @patscorpio why don't we pick a fight a week. Break it down on what we thought of it. Rds etc..... Each week we pick a new fight to talk about.

I dig that Al..cuz I did like what @SuikodenII did originally with Mercer-Cooper..it could be a thread that I can sticky..there are a lot fights thanks to youtube that are available for that

He sort of paid for it too, not only by being KO'd several times but, I thought he beat Byrd and Ruiz only to lose both decisions. I was disappointed in the decisions but I couldn't get upset because, it's THIS guy.

great call on the suggestion...

One thing I noticed, Larry Merchant was slurping the shyt out Golota...he gave him two 2 pt rounds AFTER points were deducted for the headbutt in 2nd and low blow in the 5th (pretty sure it was those rounds), and then he tried to say the triple low combo at the end wasn't intentional...

I know cacs will cac but god damn, he is polish too?!

In case anyone else was wondering, I never heard Tyson or Bowe ever mention each other and thought that was odd since they are both Brooklyn heavyweights from the same era pretty much. Just got done reading Undisputed Truth too and no Bowe mentions there but they were actually friends and went to school together.

Bowe said growing up that when he saw Tyson and his clique, he and his friends would cross over to the other side of the street :dead:

Bowe was always wishy washy about Tyson. One day he'd praise him, the next day he'd shyt on him. He'd say that he would never fight Tyson because they're both from the same hood and agreed not to fight each other. That was a lie though, because Golota was supposed to be a tune up for a fight with Tyson

Yeah apparently Golota wad a tune up for either Mike or Lennox. Jim Lampley even said that's all Bowe would talk about during the pre fight meeting. He even call Golota a bum before their first fight. :heh:

From 92-96, he was the best HW on the planet :manny:

I'd give the Bowe that fought Holyfield a chance against any HW in the history of boxing. He's a legit Top 10-15 HW just in terms of pure talent

He'd easily dominate today's division. Then again, many past Heavyweights would :yeshrug:

Classic wars. Makes you realize how far the division has dropped in terms of quality.

yeah boxing skill wise there was nothing wrong with Bowe that wasn't fixed by the time he fought holyfield..he was just undisciplined.....that and only that ended his career prematurely
