He a cold m'fer but on the real I admire Bill more than I do any other coach in sports history honestly. I have a deep respect for people in any walk of life that comes to grips with themselves that they will never be liked while they're here. And not even from the angle of being on edge about it and trying to prove people wrong, but moreso just internalizing it and keeping it moving anyways.

Sentimentality doesn't get you anywhere in sport, you can do that once you've retired.
Teams genuinely have a small window of 3-5 years to achieve success in, some cases it's only a year and are one and done, but the teams that sustain that form for longer, are the ones who know when to cycle out players to continue the success.
While Sport is ever evolving, the next generation athletes are better than the last, science is more advanced than it was 5 years earlier . One of the worst things that teams do, is not evolve and we've all seen this from our various teams in the sporting world, is hold on to some players for too long. One of the main things that ruins decent to good teams is complacency. Whether it's finally reaching that lifetime achievement and that's it for some, childhood dreams becoming a reality and they've peaked mentally. Or that people have become too comfortable in their sporting life and reflects in performance and one of the only ways stop this setting in is often move fan/team favourites on, whether it's time to freshen things up or age/wear and tear has impact on performance.
