Obviously, every other legend in there knew this. The show even alluded to it in the first or second episode when Pat went to the grocery store to get meat and said to the meat guy "You like to handle meat boy?"
This show was originally made for TV and this was probably going to be a big reveal that they figured the audience wouldn't know about, but people who subscribed to the network and are actually watching this already know about it.
It's Vince's pathetic attempt to help sell the WWE Network and seem more progressive. And what perfect timing since this is the same week when some people criticized Vince for his corny transparent jabs at President Obama.
