The restaurant has a mandatory 18% tip on parties over 8 people
This party split the bill, hoping to get around the requirement
When the pastor's portion still showed the 18% tip, he crossed it out and left no tip

Unhappy with having to pay a restaurant's auto-gratuity of 18% for parties of eight or more, a pissed-off pastor used his receipt to express his indignation.

"I give God 10% — why do you get 18?," the man wrote above the autograt line before crossing out the pre-printed tip and signing the receipt "pastor."

The St. Louis-area server who posted a pic of the receipt on Reddit said the pastor was dining with a party of 20, and asked to have the $200+ bill broken up into smaller increments in a failed attempt to avoid paying the 18% tip.

"They had no problem with my service, and told me I was great," the server said. "They just didn't want to pay when the time came."

Redditors have been trying to track down the less-than-charitable Christian, but have so far been unable to identify the culprit.

At least one pastor was forced to issue a response denying responsibility, and the server herself has asked fellow Redditors to stop posting personal information of random people "who don't deserve a Reddit mob banging down their Internet door."

The real question is why God only gets 10%. This stingy fool got some seriously low standards for the being he worships...

group of 20 :dead: and didnt want to tip :dead:

absurd

Preachers are hustlers, yo. The entire idea of church is the opposite of what Jesus taught. They collect money only to buy a bigger church when there are people still hungry. In short: fukk those people. If they were really righteous they would be out feeding the poor instead of stiffing people out of tips ans getting fatter.

Though this should be common sense, this pastor represents himself. Doesn't represent the teaching of Christianity and how Christians should act. What does tithing have to do with paying for food server for the work they have done. And you see the pastor hasn't come out because he's a coward. And the irony of this all is minister means "servant". How can you justify a waiter serving 20 people and you not paying what they require you pay. If you didn't like it, don't eat there. Nobody forcing him. Ridiculous.

15 percent is standard gratuity. If a restaurant has a 18 percent gratuity, they should tell the patrons that upfront.

Its printed on the menu and sometimes there is a sign near the hostess. At this point everyone over 21 should know if you have a large group that gratuity is included. Its like that EVERYWHERE. They do that because when you have large groups a couple of the people will not leave anything at all and just think that the tips the other people are leaving cover it. Then the waiter ends up getting an 8% tip.

This mufukka was just trying to get cheap.
