That's not how the NT came to be. The first Christians were actually Hebrews. Hebrew theology already had the 'godhead' understanding written in the pages of the OT. Hebrews and Christians were one-and-the same up until the 2nd Century CE. Christians follow the NT based on what J said and did, as well as the teachings of the Apostles, as recorded in the texts by Hebrews in the 1st Century.​

I am a Christian, and have never been in churches that have Jesus as a white man. I’ve been in black churches in NC, MS, and now GA. If I were to ask individuals out here what color do they believe Jesus to be, I’m sure the overwhelming answer would be black or him depicted as an Arabic man.
