Depends. I've shared a room with my younger brother while on vacation. Outside of that I have my own room.

Same room? I wouldn't even share the same hotel with another man. 
If I walk in there and see a man in the lobby that's not employed by the hotel, I'm walking right up to the counter and canceling my reservation.

I have a trip coming up in December. It's a group of five, three girls and two guys (including myself)
The girls roped us in late and have already booked their accomodation (hotel is fully booked) so me and my breh are gonna have to book our place and meet up with the girls during the day.
From a cost perspective, me and him sharing a room obviously makes sense (seperate beds of course)
But I'm concerned that it might be a bit strange
What's the consensus here? Have ya'll ever done it?
I travel alone, but sharing a hotel room or suite makes absolute sense.
Flights can be dirt cheap depending on how crafty and savvy you , but lodging is trickier to find great deals on.
Lodging is often more expensive than the rt flights.
If you are traveling , you figure very little time is going to be spend in the hotel room...so to me it wouldn't be a big deal.
I don't have a problem flying coach, as long as I get a good price, so sharing a room wouldn't be a problem.
More money for the actual vacation.

I travel with 2 different grps of dudes (one domestic, another international) and we usually share rooms. We'll book a few suites and split them up, or rent a AirBNB and split that up. It makes way more sense when trying to coordinate accommodations, money, timing, etc. This way we can all make payments to one person who books everything for us. Plus No one is going to wind up left behind, too drunk and messed up, etc. .
Edit: Only once did not having my own room come back to bite me in regards to cheeks. The whole gang busts through the doors with mad chicks from the club, while i had grabbed a straggler from the casino floor. My shortie got embarrassed and dipped

One time the cleaning person came into my room and it was a dude. I said Dan..how you gon’ clean up another man’s room? I think it depends on the type of trip.
If it's more of an adventure/backpacking type trip then sharing a room isn't that bad since most of the time you'll be out of the room.
Everything else, get a seperate room or suite at minimum.

Forget just the hotel. I wouldn't even share the same plane as another man. See a man on the plane and I'm telling them they need to find a different method of transportation to get to their destination.
