Watched it this morning. It was decent but I think the movie would have been better if it took place in the south instead of New York City.

Megan Markle would have been a good choice to play Clare.

Guys you have to remember that this was a different time. For that era, they definitely could pass for white. The world was very black and white back then, there was no diversity. People had no experience with other races. That's how even darker skinned mullatos were able to claim that they were native american; most people didn't know what a native american looked like.

Tessa could not, Negga could.

Tessa is light but not light enough she’s a light tan yellow undertone and has the facial structure of a black woman and the features especially the nose.

shyt they were on Babe Ruth’s ass in that time about potentially passing and he was full ethnic European immigrant stock even spoke German in the house growing up. No way Tessa would pass no matter how much she powders.

Ruth Negga would definitely pass she is Horner East African and Irish. She is very light with “fine” features hair has no kink/minimal curl, aquiline nose, her skin is white with slight tan. She has no West or Central African ancestry like black folks that were enslaved. Y’all fukking bugging.

This shyt was art cinematography wise (especially when the snow start falling) kinda slow too plot was pretty weak but I fukk with time period pieces heavy

Don’t know why she would let Clare keep coming by and be so comfortable having him around her husband

Now both are very different movies but both did black and white and tried to tackle black issues. I think Malcolm & Marie was the better movie yet it was panned while this was acclaimed.
