I've been saying for days now this dude is a goddamn plebian but do you cats ever listen?:ducreux2:

Anyway, I'm not worried about the reshoots or the lack of a trailer. It's not really common and it's funny people joke about the movie being like Frank Ocean's album release, because you can't deny that shyt builds up anticipation and a sense of necessity to check it out when it finally arrives as everyone's been talking about when the hell that damn trailer is dropping. Sometimes the best marketing is testing an audience's patience.
if everybody is a random couple of people on messageboards then yeah everybodys been talkin about it :dame:

95% of the general public, who will be the people viewing the film, have no idea it exists

I believe it was you that mentioned the lawsuit surrounding this movie and now you act like this is all intentional on the marketing team's part?

This movie is coming from Sony and I just do not trust them these days. They have no clue what they are doing.

They are probably trying to save face by not pushing this back into Dumpuary but maybe they should considering it's going up against Rogue One and the average moviegoer has no clue the movie even exists at this point

It is.

January.. The month that gives us movies like The Boy, The 5th Wave, Boy Next Door, Blackhat, Mortdecai + whatever shytty movie Kevin Hart puts out. The only time anything good comes out in January is if it's a movie that opened in NY/LA in December and goes wide in January.

And my post was actually referring to February. But at least Fox has been giving us a fun R Rated flick then the past few years. They should let Rogue one ride out and then release it.

J-Law stans (which is the entire tween community) have been waiting on this shyt for forever, breh, it's actually incredible how well the movie's been trending considering the movie's utter lack of marketing.

I was going to mention the reshoots might have to do with the MOVA lawsuit not allowing them to use footage utilizing that tech, but I haven't been reading up on the news surrounding this movie so I'm not sure about that.

Regardless of that, even if they couldn't use certain footage or have to do reshoots, they could've easily dropped a (teaser) trailer already. Hell, they have actually shown footage of the movie at CinemaCon earlier this year which was well received. Whatever the reason (mine's just speculation), it has been a very deliberate decision by Sony to not release a trailer so far.

And for the record, I don't trust Sony either. This being a Sony movie is really the only thing worrisome to me, not the lack of a trailer or the reshoots.:manny:

January also gave us ride along. Not saying I loved it or anything but neither one of them are flops. I just don't see any month being dump month anymore because studios smartened up. Next year we get hidden figures, the founder, xxx, and resident evil. These aren't "dumps" but by no means will they all be huge 500 million dollar box office movies either.

Breh there's like 6 j-law stan accounts on twitter that have been tweeting about the trailer (which I mentioned before) now they're the "entire tween community?" :dead:

To me they are all dumps from a quality standpoint. I'm not talking about box office.

Hidden figures is Oscar bait.

And bad quality flicks come out all year homie. Isn't there a thread about how bad this summer has been
And upon further research Hidden Figures releases limited on Christmas day and goes wide in January :sas1:

And the reason the Summer threads have been made is because usually there are at least a few good movies during the Summer.

January's always suck. You will never see a tweet or a thread saying "Man this January was awful." , because they all are.
