hey you gotta get it at some point. i was about 15/16 when i finally started getting interested in where the samples came from & who the original artists were. my olds didn't play that shyt when i was growing up i had to discover it myself, lucky for me NWA, Dre & Snoop were pretty much my fav rappers in my early years so i wanted to know where that sound came from.

:mjlol: at thinkin' this is my introduction to p-funk

i think @Non Sequitur was just bein' funny when he said that

i grew up with my family playin' records by both parliament and funkadelic and of course like most, i was checkin' for everythin' from n.w.a./dr.dre to too short to above the law and everythin' in between that borrowed or "sampled" a lot of parliament funkadelic back when they were at the height of their popularity

it's something i see a lot on here tho, cats getting on younger people or even just people who never got into old school Hip Hop or P Funk or whatever. my view is you gotta get into it at some point, as long as you listen & have an open mind.

Yeah, I was just breaking your balls, breh. :skip:

@DaveyDave I got into P-Funk through the Red Hot Chili Peppers. George Clinton produced their first two albums, if I'm not mistaken. Plus, my uncles played alot of Bootsy Collins solo stuff.

i thought Rick Rubin had something to do with the Chili Peppers? must have been later albums. i knew they had some kind of connection with George Clinton tho (and P Funk in general)
