Just listened to samples of about 10 songs, was trying to wait, but damn.

Yeah, Paris brought it this album. I always like his stuff but this one...he's getting better.
If Paris was in the studio w/ any of the current "greats" he probably could show any of the alleged GREATS of Hip Hop production something that they aren't using that they would use for records to come

Paris is part of the exclusive small elite club of an artist for 2 n half decades has produced, written & arranged & played on his own records. I'm trying to think of somebody other than El-P,Large Professor,Divine Styler etc, but I'm coming up short. I think he has 99.5 percent done by him, undeniable. That's 7 solo records. Then you have the Conscious Daughters material, that's about 80% done by him in production, T Kash ,PE Record... and this small discog...he's been able to keep his core fanbase who looked beyond these gaps of time where he is silent.

Now let's consider this, if Paris flipped his content & he was not so outspoken, probably Dj's would be using him in mixtapes in the same way that the names Quik,Battlekat,EA-Ski are regarded. But I think what you see is a concentrated effort NOT to have those records heard because people are scared.

But yea, the fact from Day 1 he didn't flinch is fukking amazing. The fact he never reached out for any outside producers & was that confident and sure of himself, it just made him into a musical beast.

I will tell you this right now, you can name any PRODUCER CAMP in the industry, Paris could get hired in a INSTANT just by hitting play on this For Keyboard, programming, mixing, engineering, edits, arranging, the list goes on.... People like this are in short supply in this industry.

Even fukking Dr Dre would have a hard time believing this was ALL done by one MAN. He would have a hard time believing that the guy writing all the content for his website is just him. I doubt most people in the industry have no idea that Paris was BEFORE you when it came to the internet. Everything Paris said he was going to do, he did. Whether it was Wall Street,His projects, his digital distribution. Him and Chuck D were at the forefront of everything.

The way he interpolates classic soul/funk records into his music, insane mastery.... ANYONE who is new to Paris, just play this album and you can't believe someone like this survived. Can we mention the interludes & soundbites he uses? Holy shyt, he's on some archive shyt for real.

I've been tempted to send lyrics to Fox news to troll them, but I don't think they could handle Paris on their channel in this new era. But it would be something to see someone try to box him in & just tell you the truth.

BTW how many artists do you know in the height of summer hip hop fukkery, instead wrote about this in the Washington Post?

Guns are killing my community. It’s time to end the stale gun debate and act.

Just read that & try to tell me that Paris isn't one of cultures most valuable voices. That's why Coli needs to feature him & profile him. Because even if you don't like his music, artists have a lot to learn from regarding his knowledge where it concerns how to set up your own operation & not be steered confinement & entrapment in this business.

You could go through his article archives on guerilla funk site and learn a lot on how to have a credible business where it concerns music & entertainment w/ a conscious center.

Plus his Logo & his banners are madness:

Give the Summer Drums...those verse trade off's, that replayed maze sample and those hit the floor drums, that message, :ohlawd:

Truce Music and Hard Truth Soldier are both standouts to me. CMG came correct on RAID too, it was nice hearing her again. Overall I enjoyed the entire album from front to back and only pulled out on that story track about the girl that was hooking.
My old ass pulled up to Costco gas pump bumpin the 2nd verse of this...

Had cacs like:merchant:

And left with the 3rd verse on blast.

"Back to the Panthers living in Peace
To Community and kids playing safe in the streets
Take us back to Black Businesses with Black Business
Black wealth and Black people doin for self
Take us back to the days we were moving in step
Til we raise up understand it's Freedom or Death"

This album is really good, one of his best yet.

I recently tracked down the Italian version of Unleashed, it has 6 songs not on the US version and is hard as fukk to find, so if anyone wants them, let me know, and I will point you to a place where you can legally purchase them. ;)

I think it is pretty dope for the length. The only thing that has me feeling a certain way are the remixes of two songs. I'm not really a fan of Night of the Long Knives or the last track which is basically just a Womack sample of "Stop on By" For some reason I vibe w/ the other replayed samples better than the other ones.

As I've said before, people really missed the boat when they don't see that Paris really was a musical trailblazer when it came to this G Funk Boogie sound. He really hit it when "The Chronic" sound took over and he started doing all this craziness.......

I think a lot of people got in their feelings because he outdid production wise Dr Dre alone in his studio on his analog synths while Dre had 50 or so people at his beckoning call. He lacked the star power to attract features for hooks,verses,ad-libs. But.....for a guy that takes long breaks and switches careers and then jumps right back in?

Not for anything but I think his segues were masterstrokes as well. When he opened the album "Sleeping w/ the enemy" w/ that whole set up of assassination & he hit the drum fill? The critics did Paris wrong. He was running a label,Dre wasn't,Quik wasn't, he was producing,he was engineering, mixing plus he was directing his own videos. He didn't waste anytime,

Paris SENT this video to mtv,the box,bet knowing no one would dare play it...WHo the fukk was doing anything like that?

What video do we remember? Natural Born Killaz,Dre Day etc, the death row and ruthless.

Paris did shyt PAC couldn't do, he would be arrested if he tried.

Like how he syncs up the visuals & sound efx w/ the music, no one could fukk w/ him. Yea the rhythm foundation is Not Just Knee Deep Bassline......but all those synths are ONE guy who is also emceeing, writing, programming, arranging. :banderas:

You really see the musical wizard of the studio w/ a extended mix like this: Those synth leads... :ohhh:

To think he replayed this all in the studio......have i said how people missed the boat on Paris as a producer/musician/arranger/programmer?

That dude was the most low-key bandleader in hip-hop history.:banderas:

Yeah, if it was me I would've made the second disc more of like a bonus disc and kept disc one all new songs and so forth. I do like the remix of "Hard truth Soldiers" though (even though the original song was from 2006) and Martial Law (original was 2009). Raid was on the last Conscious Daughters album and should've went to disc two, but whatever, that's just semantics I suppose.

"Night of the Long Knives" is all right, I like that little siren at the open but "Buck Buck Pass" is a far stronger single. That one hits hard.

was just about to post this, but since you got all the singles worth a damn in existence covered, don't need to. :salute::whew:

Video is compelling as hell. Did he post any updates on "Thang" project? :ohlawd:

I've been waiting on the new T-Kash. It was supposed to drop in October I thought.
