The Bible is not being pushed in schools.

It depends where you are from. I am from the blackest part of alabama as far as i can remember. The schools would do a morning prayers during the morning Pledge of Allegiance. During every school functions someone would be saying a prayer over the said function. Majority of my school teachers was either a pastor, first lady or deacon at somebody church. We also celebrated all of the christian holidays. we also had different version of the bible in my schools' library
My school had a little nursery rhyme would use to say grace before lunch everyday. This was a public school btw, not a christian academy or anything like that.
God is Great
God is Good
Let us thank him for our food
By His hands we are fed
We thank You for our daily bread. Amen.

They are also interested in indoctrinating kids with Christianity though public education.
No, they're interested in eliminating public education and making the taxpayers foot the bill to indoctrinate children in religious private schools. Which is exactly what they've been doing. It's literally what all the bullshyt "School Choice" stuff has been about.

Playing devil's advocate (don't even ask me how...)

One could argue that the Bible has its place in school purely from a literary perspective. It's arguably the most influential literary work of western culture.

I took AP English in high school. We looked at the Bible purely from a literary perspective. We also looked at texts from Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism.

The people pushing for the Bible aren't pushing it from a literary perspective and have no interest in including other religious texts.

Not utah, but a headteacher was fired for showing kids Michelangelo's David.

One of the most popular works of art. Parents described it as pornographic.

You can't have it both ways.
