I still can't believe these so called draft experts had Jabari Smith Jr going number one overall instead of him.
:hhh:
I didn't watch him much at Duke but they probably didn't think he'd be this skilled this early. But Jabari's comp was Rashard Lewis so yeah it is wild looking back.

It never made sense to me how Orlando is considered a small market with all of the tourist attractions around and being centrally located in the third biggest and one of the most moved-to states in the country. The NBA needs to give them more TV time; whenever the Magic have solid teams, they're usually fan favorites.
Orlando doesn't ring out like Miami, and as great as he is, he isn't an attraction (among casuals) like Wemby, for example, despite his team being better than the Spurs.

Paolo is similar to LaMelo, both great young players but still not enough attraction to get national TV spotlights.

Plus, his team isn't winning enough to be on national TV; if they improve or at the least repeat upon last season's performance, then by next season, you'll see them on TV more.

Lamelo definitely had the buzz and following to get national tv spotlights. The hornets just…sucked. Add in the injuries and his hype has all but gone. Hell, he’s not even the most exciting player on the team anymore.

But its metro is popping, I've lived here for a while now, it's a really nice city with a lot of development and money coming in, too much money honestly. I mean shyt okc been had more tv appearances even when they were a shyt team
The only time OKC was bad in recent memory were the 20/21 and 21/22 seasons. The Magic were equally bad.

Before that was KD's sophomore season.

Orlando is cheeks outside the amusement parks. Most of the residents there are broke
The women>>>>
Diversity>>>>
No state tax>>>>
Weather>>>
Proximity(flight to NYC is 3 hours, flight to Miami is 45 mins)

The problem with the Magic is they're run by right wing conservative Devos family it should literally be one of the premier destinations in the league tbh.

I mean unless you think the likes od Milwaukee or Memphis or San Antonio are better places to live :mjlol:

Maybe because the city itself has a population of 200k
