I’ve been saying for years that ‘knock it down’ makes no sense. It’s the type of advice that couldn’t have been originated by a DB. By saying ‘knock it down’ you’re inserting some new shyt that is counterintuitive to 20+ years of football DNA. We all grew up trying
catch the ball. In a hail Mary it’s very feasible you have a nfl vet who’s only had to do that 2,3 times in his life in a real game. You’re taking their aggression away. No DB will say it but in a Hail Mary now you got me nervous bc I gotta think instead of just play.
And then there’s the physical aspect. Of course Stevenson gettin roasted for tipping it but with the arch of that ball he physically CANT ‘knock it down’
