So. Cal
I was gonna say, the best to ever do it is Rodgers by far and he always puts it in the middle of the end zone
If u bat it down in the end zone, theres a slight chance it can be caught by a WR for a TD. If u bat it down at the goal line, WR can catch it and get tackled outside the endzone. I never heard of QBs being taught to toss it short of the goal line tbh.

Nah. Not short of the end zone. In the front part of the end zone. Daniels came up short of that, but it worked out. If that was in the middle or back of the end zone, probably not. At least he put it where something positive could happen. We’ve seen so many Hail Marys where the ball is uncatchable. The arc on this one was excellent though.

Luck + playable ball = fortuitous bounce

I’ve been saying for years that ‘knock it down’ makes no sense. It’s the type of advice that couldn’t have been originated by a DB. By saying ‘knock it down’ you’re inserting some new shyt that is counterintuitive to 20+ years of football DNA. We all grew up trying catch the ball. In a hail Mary it’s very feasible you have a nfl vet who’s only had to do that 2,3 times in his life in a real game. You’re taking their aggression away. No DB will say it but in a Hail Mary now you got me nervous bc I gotta think instead of just play.

And then there’s the physical aspect. Of course Stevenson gettin roasted for tipping it but with the arch of that ball he physically CANT ‘knock it down’ :heh:
