Yes it was ArRival my bad. & no it wasn't MOY. Wasn't even MON but I remember it being good. The match actually had a story behind it and Paige's frustration throughout the whole thing played right into it. That's also the night she debut her new submission. It was great compared to women's matches we were used to.I didn't see Paige vs Emma on NXT Takeover on the Network, but I do see a match from NXT ArRival on February 27, 2014. I'll watch this match assuming that's what you meant.
3 minutes in - Paige has a resthold on Emma and is working her over in the corner. Emma immediately no sells, gets in some offense and the match slows down again.
Paige has been grunting and yelling the entire match.
Halfway in - Emma has Paige in a resthold now, working over her back. Emma is working Paige's back. Powerbomb from the top rope. I'm expecting a Bret Hart type of finish with Paige winning via rollup or playing opossum while continuing to get worked over.
Okay, wow. Paige gets her Super Cena on, no sells all of the damage Emma has done on her back, hits her finisher and Emma taps.
Match of the year.
Much better than The Shield vs. The Wyatts from Elimination Chamber, The Shield vs. Evolution from Extreme Rules, Rollins vs. Ambrose on RAW, Sami/Neville from NXT Takeover or even Sami vs Cesaro from that same event
I'm not even hating on women's wrestling because I wholeheartedly place Sasha Banks/Bayley in the top 5 of matches that I've seen this year. Once again, that match you mentioned exhibits Paige's lack of in-ring psychology.
This is what I do not understand about the WWE. Why have Naomi spend all that time in FCW and place her on NXT (when it was a competition show) and STILL cannot pair her up with a Diva or two that can keep up with her in the ring. How hard is it to throw together a mini-feud with either Nattie or Alicia on SD.
Hard to learn ring psychology when you work with in-ring illiterates and getting snatch from the proving grounds at the most inopportune times.
Only if Naomi had the complexion for protection, she could have long runs while upping her in-ring psychology.
Truth.
And speaking of Paige and Naomi, was done with that pasty bytch after that stupid ass promo. It was like she didn't hear a word that Naomi said.
I think it's tragic that we never got a proper AJ/Naomi and Nattie/Naomi program and we won't ever get them. I think they brought up ONCE that Naomi went further in NXT than AJ and never mentioned it again. They could've been turned Naomi and let her run that program as a heel. Something. Any effort would been nice to see.
