Jay was not in the streets, you can find any info you need about him online. Nas comment in Ether about him getting chased in his building, comes from Jaz-O. Jaz-o also told Nas that Jayz was made fun of as a kid, and this is because his mom used to dress him almost preppy fresh like Carlton, and thats Bk. Jayz said he shot his brother , who was on crack for stealing his jewelry (not the first time) , when he was 12 or 13. Its been stated by more then one person including his brother that he was 16, and actually pulled the trigger by accident. Az went to highschool with Jayz, and characterized him as quiet and keeping to himself. His friend who took over as protection from his Drug dealing brother Eric, Dehaven , stated that Jayz couldnt play ball in bk because it was too physical, and he didnt like that stuff. Dehaven moved to trenton to play hs ball, and eventually took over blocks hustling there, and then Baltimore. He took Jayz on both occasions, and payed for him to travel to record in Ny with Jaz-o. Jayz is not related to Emory. Emory is from Cambridge Maryland, and through Danny Dehaven was able to bring a team down there and do business with Emory. Even Dannys brother says when he approached Danny about getting on after a freestyle, Danny gave him
a few bills and told him to go cut a record. He gave that money to Dehaven. Dehavens Girlfriend, as well as Emory's relatives recollect Jayz house sitting during his time out of state, Dehaven describes the same situation. Apparently Dehaven is a confidential informant, and this is why Jayz does not fukk with him, so women blew him up on line. In the end Jayz has seen a lot, and grew to be the popular cool guy that can rap, I think thats what counts.

Eric B talks about the Posse at 1:14:38

Listened to this yesterday, Jack is the man. I think everyone has is twisted concerning Eric. He was already established before he found Rakim. Ra would prob not dispute that. Eric was Diddy before Diddy, Suge Knight with maturity. There dispute had to do with how Eric decided to handle their break up in the courts, rather than mutually between themselves. He knew Ra had found himself as an independent artist, and that point didnt need Eric's connections and influence.
As far as the Posse, it would have made a way better film than Str8 outta compton. Not to mention there is a wealth of Ny hiphop history that would create better scripts. I believe the hollywood division of our federal government stopped Black films that exposed and criticized them, post 1999. I wish Black / Latinos, and Causians from the hiphop origin culture would do more.
