I think it just connects with a lot of phony people, my dude. As if they over-prioritized lives were finally vindicated cuz someone made a movie about people just as depressed as they are.

But on the real, fukk Sophia Coppola :birdman:

Yeah for realz...ima big bill murray fan and i remember wanting to see this movie when it dropped but shyt was boring as hell, nothing memorable but hey, people like shyt like that.

I travel alot for my job, so I could completely relate to the whole loneliness abroad concept.

yeah, this is what did it for me. it wasn't so much of the loneliness that made the film for me, but atmospheric wise it mirrored a lot of my foreign travel experiences. every time when i'd go, i'd go alone. i'd have friends where i was going but i would only stay with them while they went about their daily lives. we'd hang out occasionally but most of the time i was doing something by myself. i couldn't speak any of the languages in the places i went (aside from france, and it's more like i understand what they're saying, not so much about me being able to speak it). wasn't doing tourist related things, i was mostly either working, wandering or relaxing. and when you're having experiences like that, mentally your inner thoughts become louder because you're unable to decipher the sounds around you so every little conversation you are able to have becomes much more apparent and pronounced while other sounds become ambient noise...

Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
The scenes at the hotel bar cut deep for me. I've been in that situation SEVERAL times. It's nice when you can meet new chicks at the bar, and it's very convenient to hook up(since you're already at the hotel), but it gets lonely as fukk sometimes. If a chick like Scarlett approached me during one of those trips, I would've eaten it up just like Murry did. Knowing I had to walk away from her and go back to my wife would have been :to:
