Let me tag my breh @mr. smoke weed so he can see this post:obama:

Im sure he agrees since he's the Captain of the #BradleyBunch :salutekobe:
Honestly breh, captain of the #BradleyBunch and all, I never thought Timmy won. I didn't think it was a 10-2, 11-1, 12-0 shutdown but I thought pac got the better of him. Its been a year+ since I've watched that fight though. to the brehs point, Manny does of a gradual mirror than ring cut off for whatever reason. I never thought of his lack of cutting off the ring would be a problem because he can get in and get out, but Floyd(like JMM) can see those shyts 4 steps in advance. May be an issue against a master boxer like Floyd.

that letter tells me that he's very aware that his legacy going forward is on the line in this fight..and yet a couple of foolish floyd stans try to say otherwise prior to this fight coming to pass :bryan:..floyd stans and the nonsense they spew :pachaha:

Everyone that follows Boxing should've been in agreement that this fight was for his legacy. He can NOT lose this fight...not to Pacquiao. He'd have been better off losing to Maidana or something:heh:

He loses to Pacquiao of all people and he takes a huge hit to his legacy:wow:

no breh im talking about floyd stans who uttered shyt like "pac isnt a legacy fight, he doesnt have to face him..he should fight amir khan instead because of nationalistic rooting interests" type comments...pure nonsense

Ah, I see. No, I would have had my doubts if this fight never took place. That's like with MJ, he took everyone's heart in the 90's. No disputing anything.

Mayweather Starts Fight Week Heat Over Pacquiao's Money
Posted by: Rick Reeno on 4/29/2015 .

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has advised Floyd Mayweather Jr. to mind his own business when it comes to the finances of Manny Pacquiao. Earlier in the day, Mayweather questioned the treatment of Pacquiao by Arum's company and adviser Michael Koncz.

Mayweather Jr. explained some of the details from his chance meeting with Pacquiao at a Miami Heat game, in Florida, back in January. The two fighters met face to face, and had a conversation which both indicate was the turning point in their negotiations and ultimately led to a deal being finalized for Saturday's mega-fight showdown.

Mayweather said he was irritated at Pacquiao's longtime adviser, Koncz, who the unbeaten boxer claims had made promises to him a few years earlier.

"When Michael Koncz came over to me and said Manny wanted to take a picture with me, I said 'no, I don't want to take a picture with [Manny], because you're a liar. You told me years ago that you were in control and you gave me your phone number and said all I had to do was call you to make the fight happen. You said [Top Rank CEO] Bob [Arum] was not in control. You told me. Then I said 'you told me and you said you were a man of your word and haven't been a man of your word, so no I'm not taking a picture with Manny Pacquiao. That's a no-go," Mayweather explained.

"I told Pacquiao 'I don't know what Bob Arum has been telling you guys, but its not true. And he's been telling you guys in the media things for years that are not true. [I told him] if you take random blood and urine testing and its on an even playing field - we can make the fight happen. I told him I don't want Michael Koncz number. I've got Michael Koncz number - he's full of sh*t."

"I don't want his number, he's full of sh*t. Michael Koncz don't work for you. He don't care about your wellbeing. I know what happens behind the scenes in the sport of boxing. Just like I said, on Saturday you will see the difference in the paydays.

Mayweather then said, in his personal opinion, that Pacquiao was not treated fairly by Top Rank - in terms of finances - for the May 2nd collision. Mayweather was promoted by Top Rank when he turned pro and stayed with the company until 2006, when he bought his contract out and became a free agent.

"Like when he said he said he signed paperwork [to fight me earlier this year]. I said you must have signed an extension or you must have signed half your money over. As far as you said you signed to fight, that's not true," Mayweather said.

"I told him that I'm surprised that he's not working with Al Haymon. If he was working with us directly, I think he would have made a lot more money. He would have really made $100 million, if he would have worked with us."

"I don't know why they had him staying at that type of hotel [in Miami]. Like I said before, the treatment. It wasn't right. I'm not here to put the hotel on blast, but it wasn't right. Financially I don't think Top Rank treated him right for this fight."

Arum believes Mayweather is just talking trash in a calculated manuever to affect Pacquiao's mental state as the fight draws near.

"Floyd should mind his own business. I'm not going to reduce this to a dialogue, one way or another, with Floyd. You saw at the press conference with Pacquiao today, there wasn't one bad thing said about Mayweather. We're not going to say one bad thing about Mayweather. We're not going to answer him back and so forth. He's the master of trash talking. He's not going to upset Manny Pacquiao. I'm not going to respond to him," Arum said.

Arum says the insistence by Mayweather to call the shots during the entire promotion, as the A-side, will not prevent the inevitable.

"All that A-side stuff, that's [Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard] Ellerbe talking. [Mayweather] will enter the ring last and he will be announced last, but that won't prevent him from getting knocked out by Manny Pacquiao," Arum said.

Mayweather: 50-0 is Important To Media, Not To Me
Posted by: Boxing Clever on 4/29/2015 .

Floyd Mayweather will view his success in providing financial security for his family as a greater achievement than retiring undefeated.

Mayweather confronts his most ferocious challenge yet when he faces long-term rival Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning to finally determine who is the finest boxer of their generation.

The 38-year-old has cultivated an air of invincibility built upon his unbeaten 47-fight record, but he views the accumulation of a personal fortune in excess of 325 million with greater satisfaction than his exploits in the ring.

"Right now I'm TBE (the best ever) and after this fight I will still be TBE. One fight against Pacquiao doesn't define my career," Mayweather said.

"The great thing about my career has been that I'm a smart businessman. Let's talk about that.

"A 19-year career with no punishment on the body and hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank? That's something to talk about.

"Absolutely the money means more to me than the unbeaten record - my daughter can't eat no zero. She can't spend a boxing record.

"The money is to make sure that my children and my children's children are secure and that they're okay. That's the most important thing.

"Within the last 48 hours I made 11million and that's going to my children. I've made a lot of smart investments.

"A lot of people say I'll have nothing when my career is over, but I make calculated moves."

Rocky Marciano's hallowed mark of 49 victories edges ever closer and even before the welterweight rivals have stepped into the ring at the MGM Grand, attention has drifted towards Mayweather's future.

Should fireworks or controversy dramatise Sunday's unification showdown, a September rematch in the final fight of Mayweather's deal with Showtime will be inevitable.

Equalling Marciano's record would place him on the brink of greatness, a label many are reluctant to bestow upon a fighter who has been criticised for his defensive style and for picking opponents too carefully.

An important voice advising him to retire is father and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr and the bronze medal winner at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics is adamant that September will be his final outing.

"Only God can judge me. I've got two fights left," Mayweather said.

"People ask me about Rocky Marciano's record. He was one hell of a fighter and guys like him, Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson helped pave the way for me to be where I am now.

"But no, I won't miss boxing. No. No, fifty is special for you, it's not special for me.

"We'll see how everything plays out. My father's entitled to his own opinion, but when all is said and done I'm my own man. But my father is right.

"September will be my last fight. It's time for me to walk away. Pacquiao two? No. Only God can predict the future."

Mayweather's defensive brilliance condemns him to being admired but never loved and it is the all-action style of Pacquiao that is capturing hearts and minds heading into the richest fight of all time.

However, Mayweather would rather concentrate on the long-term health benefits of his slick counter-punching style.

"A lot of people criticise me for being a defensive fighter, but on Monday night when I was sitting at home with my mother and daughter, I thought 'you know what, I'm proud of myself'," Mayweather said.

"To be in the sport for 19 years, the main thing is that I will get out with a sharp mind. I wasn't involved in a lot of wars, because being involved in a lot of wars puts a lot of wear and tear on your body.

"Even just training for fights of this magnitude puts a lot of wear and tear on the body. To still be sharp and have all my faculties, that's remarkable."
