I cant compare a commercially driven album to an underground style album.
wtf neither of them were commercially driven. are you saying an album with songs like Turn Off The Radio or Wrong nikka To fukk Wit was commerically driven or the one with Papa'z Song or Keep Ya Head Up?

You serious?? The samples they sued on the KKK album was for sales.
Tupac wanted a second underground album.. NOT a DEBUT TRYING TO FUKK OVER MAINSTREAM SUCCESS.
Keep ya head up is like smells like teen spirit. it Blew up and 2pac was :dwillhuh: when thats the ONLY thing you remember the album for.
U proved it, cuz you brought it up.

Pac truly had timeless music.People talk about all that doomsday shyt that's supposed to happen starting now and into the future.I think Pacs sales are going to sky rocket when shyt hits the fan.You can say what you want, but that mans music is very inspirational and straight up therapeutic for a lot of folks.

A lot of rappers don't reach that level of connectivity with there fans.I think a lot of Pac critics miss the boat on that. They say he was ass lyrically and his rhyme structure lacked complexity , but that's like knocking Michael Jordan because he couldn't handle the rock like God Shammgod. It doesn't matter.Pac's genius was understanding that simplicity= clarity and truth=profoundness.

Not only that, he took on a lot of deep, complicated issues and brought them down to a simplified level to where you can really understand and "feel" where he was coming from. That's why he was able to connect with so many people.Rappers are like doctors.Pac was like a down to earth, cool as doctor. He was just as educated as every other doctor, but he could present the diagnoses on a person to person level. No technical jargon trying to complicate the diagnoses and show how smart you are as a doctor, but he just hit you on some real man to man shyt.

I believe that was his gift.He could take on deep, complicated subjects and break them down into poems of simple, basic truths.Which is overlooked and not so easy to do.Most rappers take simple subjects and try to make them more complicated than they are. That shyt is shallow imo. They never hit you at a human level.

That's what gets me about Pac critics. They can't see his gift.In fact, they try to use it against him.Truth never dies.Especially truth + clarity......that's power right there

Great post....if marvin gaye could rap he'd be pac....he made that straight from the heart sould music...that's why it came so easy to em even though as a artist he wuz far from a perfectionist...having probaly the wildest life story of any nikka we've seen since jesus also helps him build a great catalogue...a rappers only as good as they story...and a lot of them once they get rich thy either stop livin life bcuz fame won't allow it or they don't wanna share it bcuz with fame your not supposed to do it.

not even one 5 mic effort. MATW was his best shot at an introspective yet still paranoid and superhero thug presentation that may have garnered a bonafide realization of his artistic strengths but he packed a few sloppy duds on there.

the next two are bonehead classics and reactionary.
