For cats who haven't been to NYC or have fam there, it's definitely "weird". 2 of my Aunt's have lived in the Bronx all their lives. One in South Bronx, one up off Boston Road near Co-Op City. As a kid, I didn't think much of it since the Puerto Ricans there weren't white or asian so I just thought it was the norm, which it was. Even visiting my father and grandmother/great grandma in Harlem, same shyt.

As I got older, I can understand how someone can see that shyt and think when you not in that bubble to understand that's the culture there tho.
