This is just all incredibly sad. You'd think a country that is rich in oil and supposedly rich in morals, would treat people with a bit more dignity.

The Ethiopians knew what they were getting before they travelled, and if they didn't, that's still their own fault. A fool and its money, or his labor or his women, are soon parted. Go to Saudi Arabia and be enslaved upon arrival, brehs. Believe Arabist Koran lies and propaganda, brehs. These East Africans
want to be devout Muslims. This is what such entails. Islam is one of humanity's great lies.

I watched the entire feature. The Ethiopians walk themselves into disgusting acts of torture, murder, sodomy, rape, lynching, etc. I have no sympathy. They probably think braving these evils is worth the trip to Mecca. The veil of ignorance which shrouds Muslim people knows no bounds. They would march into the deepest pit in Hell if a imam told them so.

Ethiopia's were partly and destabilised by Europeans (ie. Somalia) as well as their own religious/ethnic strife. There are parts of the country which do well but the majority is indigent.

Get sodomized, strangled, and hung by Arabs while trying into their nation, brehs. I have no sympathy for these East Africans. Maybe the

Breh, they goin there because of the money this has nothing to do with religion. Traffickers take advantage of down and out farmers that gotta feed their family by selling dreams of an easy passage and great wealth in Saudi Arabia. For some, taking the chance is better than waiting to see what happens. They know the risks, I hate that they even go, but money talks. :ld:

Its a landlocked country of just under 100 million that depends mostly on agriculture since other sectors were destroyed following the end of our Italian occupation. Not to mention, the one setback of not being colonized was not being developed in the way the other African countries were. You could also trace this back to Menelik II's misstep in not importing modern industry to the country as it would affect the slavery system that was still in place at the time. The country is gradually getting better but it still has a very long way to go before its less of this type of stuff going on. I think a major Western style city in the country would put a huge dent in the human trafficking going on in Ethiopia/Eritrea.

Ethiopia was colonized though, by Italy. Then after the war came the Eritrean struggle for independence and subsequent military struggle, and poor governance that led to mass famine and inflation, and only after that, and because of it, the Soviets were able to promote themselves and support the Ethiopian communist bid for power, backed by the resentment of the public. Then came the massive militarization and relative avoidance of full-on economic reform. After that came the Somali assault on the Ethiopian border region. Then came the Democratic Socialist regime, which liberalized the country but continued some of the authoritarian tendencies of the communists.

Ethiopia's problems come from many parts of the last 100 years of history.

Technically occupied. But they never truly colonized us. :ld:

No one could respect the acquisition since the country remained in a perpetual state of war. Italy made a fatal mistake since the conflict drained their resources. Otherwise you're absolutely right in your analysis. One thing that's usually not discussed is how following Ethiopia's liberation the British destroyed the factories the Italians had built in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Those would of come in handy following the war. I'd even extend it past 100 years to when Menelik sold off Eritrea.

Nah, I just think it's sad that you would allow your biases to preclude an actual historical survey of Ethiopia's problems. I included both communists and the Democratic Socialists in mine. You only included communists in yours. You also ignored that the reason the communists came to power in the first place is that Ethiopia was experiencing mass famine and inflation under the pre-communist Selassie economy.
