Drexler couldn't lead his team past Detroit or the Bulls, he was an underachieving superstar/HOF player. No leadership capabilities. He wasn't the leader of any team, he had a HOF game with a supporting cast mentality. He wouldn't have lead LA to over there Nuggets to meet Boston that year He won in Houston because he was under the wing of Akeem.

Also Drexler didn't face zones in the NBA. Zones were illegal defense back then. Stop with the lies.

Name another HOF drexler played with in Portland who was in their prime? You can't. He had good supporting players but never another guy who can go out and get you 30 if clyde had a consistent allstar the blazers would have been better.

You nikkas man, acting like a "zone" is the end all of defense. Kobe is a volume shooter, while drexler would defer more to gasol and other teammates and not force up shots which is what the celtic "zone" forces you to do with that box and 1 defense.

Also the blazers choked against the lakers in 91, while they were underdogs against the pistons in 90 and bulls in 92. Kobe doesn't lead the blazers to the finals in either of those year.

so let me see if I have this straight:

90-blazers lose 3 games at home against an all-time great defense.

91-blazers lose against heavy underdog lakers despite league best record.

92-blazers blow 15-point 4th quarter lead with jordan on the bench.

The 90's pistons would sweep the 08 celtics along with the 92 bulls. His real hiccup was in 91 vs the lakers. No other way around it. The knock on them was they we're fragile, since drexler was the leader you can put that on him. Also, where was his alltime great coach at? Kobe has been blessed to have phil jackson at his side, and a consistent offense for the bulk of his career while having all time big men. Clyde never had these luxuries before. But it is what it is. Your right he did not have a great jumper, but Clyde has seen and beaten true zone defenses and wouldn't force the issue like does all the time.

Defensive rating is a flawed stat considering the pace was faster in the late 80's early 90's then it is today hence more possessions = more points = lower D rating.

This is the same celtic team who couldn't beat a lonely 37 win hawks team, they were not world beaters in the playoffs by a large margin.

People talk about drexler blowing a 15 point lead which is factual, but what about kobe blowing a 24 point lead in a swing game 4 as he played like garbage in the second half.

You talk about kobe being doubled team and still shooting, wherelse clyde would move the ball against the "zone" getting open shots for teammates which would of loosened the zone then he would've destroyed either allen, or piece 1 on 1.
