Rosa Parks stole a darkskin woman's shine.
How would anybody even know who was the "first" black woman to refuse to move to the back of the bus? What statistical service pre-1955 surveyed people on buses to know if an incident of this type happened. Yes, the Colvin incident happened before Rosa Parks, but there's no proof that she was the first black woman to refuse to move. The likeliness of her being the first is actually pretty low. Chances are it happened before and it was handled in some manner that did not get out to the masses.

Not just that, but think of the times. A story of a black person rebelling, resisting and "disrespectng" a white person would get around. Which is why often times white folks punished us harshly. They didn't want us inspiring others to stand up for ourselves. It was even a big deal first time it happened in the movies and on TV.

You don't think it couldn't have happened before and the black woman was just assaulted or insulted? Maybe it happened and the white person just said "fukk you ****** bytch" and moved on their way. I'm just wary of saying that was the first time it happened. First documented case, yes. But first time it happened, I'm not convinced.
