Not justifying her death (and I don't think Cabbage Patch is either), but what he's saying has some validity. From what I remember, people were saying she saw him as free check for 18 years.

It's crazy how this punk had such a great future. The year he got arrested he was in the beginning of a break out year. He could have easily afforded ONE child with a woman he was currently in a relationship with.

Sometimes with these dudes its not the actual child that is a problem..but rather the child's mother is so unappealing to him, he can only tolerate her when smashing but the idea of starting a family with her is a complete turn off. A baby is no issue..it doesnt have an attitude, habits, drama etc etc. These dead beat types arent running from the child but the child's mother.

But he is still deserving of respect. If HE says he wants nothing to do with Rae, then that should be respected. The grandmother trying to shield him from Rae will lead to rebellion and a lingering resentment if that is not his own wish.
