Why are you wasting time arguing with a person who supports the system who oppresses us? He supports capitalism and racism. He thinks slaves should have done a better job with poor schools, poor education and poor jobs.
Facts
When it's all said and done leaders like Kwame didn't help the perception of Detroit or black leadership.
The truth is Detroit will be rebuilt and those that have real estate will eat in the long run but lack of a community spirit in business is always what beats the black populous.
If Asians come in they would almost definitely develop a business community that circulates money within their community. I feel like they want that Deerborn Michigan effect.

DETROIT — A midnight blue Chevy rolls slowly down a snow-covered street, an emergency strobe light on its roof and a sign on its side that promises this is “official business.” At each house, business, even vacant lot, workers in the car pause to decide whether someone lives there and what shape the place is in before snapping a photo and beaming it to “mission control” miles away.
All over Detroit, scores of these workers — on some days as many as 75 three-person teams — have been wending their way through the streets since December, cataloging on computer tablets one of this bankrupt city’s most devastating ailments: its tens of thousands of abandoned and dilapidated buildings.

what detroit, and really all black centers need is strong young black leaders. detroit got fooled into voting for kwame and them off of the strength of supporting our own and they let us down and blew the money on strippers and the detroit princess and shyt
the only people that will be genuinely concerned about the black community will be the black community so we need leaders that will help start a cultural change that will help our young ones value education more because the road we are on right now is our only goal is to be entertainers (sports, music, etc). now the good thing is i think we have some good leaders, like kids coming out of our HBCUs as one example, that have potential to be good leaders for our communities. the thing is they will face powerful opposition from those who dont want their agenda to succeed but if we have enough growth that'll be hard to stop
it would be nice for a young black business man/men/women to come into detroit and start planting their own seeds so the kids of the city have something to look up to. we have a flood of hipsters coming in and starting coffee shops, bars, etc our young black kids can do the same. the time is now before things start getting priced out and before everything has a Illitch or Gilbert stamp on the window
edit: unlike most i dont think im as opposed to a more multi-cultural detroit even though the city was a black mecca. detroit will be a national power again, thats the road its headed in. instead of complaining we just have to make sure we inform our people of the opportunity that it is to make sure we get as much of the pie as we can when the pieces are cut

I look at it as an opportunity for black folks to rise
You look at it as another roadblock. Your attitude defines your altitude. I don't care how grim things are, black folk got to have a more optimistic attitude and start pulling legit power moves, right down to the individual level.
I look at it as irrelevant, immigrants might represent a blow to a particular type of white supremacy but they do not represent a blow to white supremacy cuz they bring with them a particular type of supremacy and the majority of immigrants believe in white supremacy
