I'm just in awe of how Nicholas Kristof came through and crushed the buildings again. The power he wields with one column is extraordinary.


1. Won the Pulitzer for his writing on Tiananmen Square and helped build the national narrative on the event

2. One column he wrote ended up being the lead for the Gates Foundation's last 25 years of global health initiatives

3. Won the Pulitzer for his writing on Darfur and helped build the narrative on the violence there.

4. Wrote Half the Sky which is credited with inspiring women's rights movements among oppressed/impoverish women across the world

5. Now has completed changed PornHub, OnlyFans, and the entire online amateur porn industry



I know there's other shyt I'm forgetting too....his Iraq War coverage (one of the first to drive home that Iraqis didn't want us there), the way he's changed the field of opinion/advocacy journalism in general.

This will always be a problem in America. You can’t have an overly sexualized society and not expect for a sex industry to try to build and grow. They definitely need to stamp out trafficking, revenge, and child porn but it feels like a game of wack a mole.

YouTubers and Twitch streamers could theoretically get their OnlyFans game popping just like they do with Patreon. It's just a subscription service for specialized content isn't it?

Plus some musicians already had OF pages for exclusive music and live streams, especially earlier in the pandemic when they couldn't tour.

Yup, only fans was originally set up for creators to sell exclusive content ala music/personalize stuff to their followers. It isn’t like tumblr at all, tumblr was always going to be a money pit with no viable way to generate revenue.

The people selling porn just found a loophole took advantage once all the IG models and streamers started eating. And for whatever reasons only fans was dumb enough to let it permeate too long and now they can’t wash out the stench at this point. I imagine most of the porn stuff doesn’t make that kind of money for them anyway but they did it to themselves.
