Former WWE Champion CM Punk Reveals Which Opponents He Would Return To The Ring To Face
A Few Dream Rematches Could Be On The Cards...
Back in November, CM Punk shocked the wrestling world when he returned to the WWE fold as an analyst on WWE Backstage. Since then, former Universal Champion Seth Rollins has issued numerous challenges to The Straight Edge Superstar in the hope he will get back in the ring and face him.

Unfortunately for The Monday Night Messiah, this isn't a match that interests Punk as he revealed during a recent appearance on the Swings & Mrs. podcast what it would take for him to return to the squared circle. Ultimately, The Voice Of The Voiceless said he would only come back if he faced an opponent that "motivated" him, and so far, no promotion has been able to offer him that.

"If the business was right and I had somebody that motivated me across the ring from me I think might be able to get it done," Punk said. "Nobody's dangled the correct carrot."

The former WWE Champion then revealed the "correct carrot" would only be a small handful of opponents, but that he would end his wrestling hiatus to take on Daniel Bryan, John Cena, and Rey Mysterio in WWE. Punk also didn't rule out wrestling for another promotion as he said the last opponent he would come out of retirement for was New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Will Ospreay.

The WWE Backstage analyst said: "As far as people that I've worked with before, if there was like a clean slate so to speak, if the money was right, I think a guy like Daniel Bryan I would go 'okay I'll listen to your idea.' If you said John Cena, I'd probably listen to your idea, Rey Mysterio, I would listen to your idea. For people I haven't ever wrestled before, I think Will Ospreay, I think I would listen to your idea.

"But like I said, there's a lot of moving parts but I'm busy doing other stuff and nobody I think has found the right combination of ways to approach me. It's not all up to me ladies and gentlemen, it's up to the people who run the companies.

Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and......Will Ospreay :dwillhuh:

Can Phil even hang with The flippy king right now?

Old article, but kinda surprised at him mentioning Mysterio, Cena, and Bryan since he's wrestled them multiple times in the past.

We’ve seen all those matches except Ospreay, and right now he’s a bad choice due to the accusations against him.

its more suprising that Cena is considered one of his best opponents and he enjoys working with him

He's doing indie movies now, and it seems like he's enjoying getting into acting. Wrestling probably still far away from his personal pursuits atm.

He and his wife have around 10 mill networth according to google, and he lives frugal af.

Don't see him coming back, and if it's a one-off, he gonna have mad ring rust and we just gonna get a Batista-comeback status match most likely.

Their matches were actually pretty great. The RAW match where punk did a piledriver on him was awesome. They had ring chemistry.

Everyone has a price and I’m sure he’d consider it if the money was right. Unfortunately for him, he wouldn’t move the needle enough to be worth that type of money.

This is the same company that gave CM Punk the belt for a year. When did he ever draw a dollar? He did the "the whole business is fake, but my match is real" gimmick one time, and it drew for one show, but then the fans realized "oh wait, it's fake like the rest of it", and he wen t back to not drawing quickly. He's CM Internet, he's an internet guy who blew up because he had some diehard internet fans who hyped him a lot from ROH to his WWE main event push, but in real life it didn't draw.
