And when she didn't do/say what he wanted to hear, he showed his true colors by calling her a token hire

This is what the thread should be about.

How a billionaire can wave his power out in the open on institutions that create ‘next generation thinkers’?

So because they have enough money in the bank now they should stop taking more donations? This website I swear...I don't know where some of you live but certainly it's not the real world. :pachaha:
Where did anyone state that?

You made a rather silly comment akin to “[Ivy League] schools can’t run without these specific donations” when it’s not true. Again these are significant sums the loss or redirection of which compels action- but nowhere near to the detrimental effect of what you typed.

Also, to note, donors who feel their institution is failing them in a very real way have every right to rescind their patronage. To not “play” into what the Rep was basically demanding/expecting is perhaps wasn’t the best political move nor a fair reflection of the Universities they helm and what commitment to “free speech” and not “hate or violent speech” entails.

That said, I hope you saw where I linked that the donor

this is also one of my main issues. Jewish people, powerful, wealthy, or not have every right to demand and access safety, emotional, physical, and psychological from their institutions and workplaces. It’s separate
from issues/critique of Netanyahu or the Israeli government’s actions over the course of this storied conflict. What happened Oct 7 was horrific, Hamas’ fault, and claims that those who lost their lives “deserved” or willed it are unacceptable imo full stop.

However, it’s NOT lost on me at all that in the same breath Stevens, with an echo chamber, wields that same money to demand his and his kind’s safety, to unironically condemn “diversity” and “others” rights at universities as a cause for concern that administrators are headed in the wrong direction or “doing too much.”

When those 'next generation thinkers' equate terrorism with 'social justice', that's a problem that SHOULD be outed.

More people should do it instead of encouraging barbarism and/or refusing to condemn it when it occurs like on October 7.
